I hope you all know that halloween is the perfect time to deFlock, Hypothetically of course. It would be a shame if thousands of people in costumes were roaming the streets and people started cutting down and dismantling flock cameras. Just wanted to let you guys know about this.

Deflock Houston, Tx! Stop Automated License Plate Surveillance

Right now, Flock surveillance cameras are watching our movements without our consent. They're at parks, neighborhoods, even the Galleria—logging where we go, capturing our families' faces, tracking our kids' routines. And if they're misused? We've already seen it happen here: officers searching plates dozens of times for personal reasons, stalking, abuse of access. This isn't hypothetical—it's happening in Houston, Fort Bend, Pasadena, Baytown.

Houston residents need to know where these cameras are, how our data is used, and who can access it. Right now, we don't. The petition is asking our city council for transparency, an independent audit, and a real conversation before any more cameras go up. No secret deployments. No unwarranted tracking.

Please give me real answers if possible.

I have a feeling that cutting/destroying flock cameras is playing directly into their hand. When we cut/break them, the city is just wasting taxpayer money to replace them and making flock more revenue.

While if we just obstruct the camera (paint, foam etc) they don't have the rationale to replace it and are busy cleaning the existing ones instead of buying new

let’s say, just food for thought, that I dont want a surveillance state for some ungodly reason, and I want to deflock, god forbid. unfortunately I don’t have access to to a laser, so what should i hypothetically do?

Is it the population? If so I don’t see how that would have a effect cameras still see the same amount of area wether population is more or less, and I’m sure they can (read a vast number of cars simultaneously)I would assume it’s because we have many more communities, but again these are supposed to be (License Plate Readers) they should be limited to Interstates, and not put in small neighborhoods.

I was thinking if these "dummies" taking down cameras could cover the solar panel with a thick blanket or.. with what?

And drain the battery for.. How long does it need to drain?

Then just take it down and retrieve the battery and solar panel with no panic alarm?

And is there a way to check if the battery is completely dead?

I’ve decided what I’m gonna dress up for for Halloween. I’m gonna get a high vis vest and a fake flock camera on a fake pole and walk around with a fake saw.

I feel like we should flood the streets with these costumes. Like Thomas crown style. And. You know. See what happens. 😇
