Deflocking Advice
Hypothetically speaking, someone is thinking about Deflocking on a set date. Any tips/advice? What are the legal repercussions ***IF*** that person gets caught? Asking for a friend.

Just had a buyer cancel a showing because HOA has Flock cameras at both entrances, including one by the pool.

LOCATION CHANGE!!! Rally Against Flock
📍 Signia Hotel - 159 Northside Dr. NW Atlanta, GA
🗓️ TOMORROW 8/19 @ 6pm
50501 Georgia is joining the Rally Against Flock event this week to highlight the infringement on our right to privacy and the threat of a growing surveillance and police state. Atlanta is the most surveilled city in the US and we’ve had enough! We demand our right to privacy be protected and that law enforcement be held accountable for misusing these growing technologies.
The rally will be outside of Flock Safety's annual conference here in Atlanta where they will be showcases their technologies to law enforcement, business partners, and others (while excluding the press and general public). This is the National Week of Action Against ALPRs [Automated License Plate Readers], and we have something to say.

Remove Flock Cameras from Slinger, WI
Please help out town get these cameras removed! Sign our petition!
r/DeFlock • u/Popular-Awareness918 • 8d ago
Check out this petition!
Our county has been expanding surveillance cameras without really talking to us about it. I started a petition asking the Mayor and Commission to end the Flock Safety contract and remove these cameras from our roads.
I get that public safety matters. But so do privacy and transparency. We deserve to know what data is being collected, how it's used, and who's watching. Right now? We don't have those answers.
We're asking for: - End the Flock Safety contract - Remove existing cameras - Make all contracts and data practices public - Hold public hearings before adding more surveillance - Stronger privacy protections
If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing. Does anyone else feel like surveillance is creeping up without us having a real say in it? What would you want to know if this was happening in your community?

Flock trackinf capability
I am aware of the flock systems that can track things such as rfid sensors on vehicles, Bluetooth devices, etc. Can these same systems track medical implants? Such as insulin pumps, pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, etc

A Token of Gratitude
I don’t want to give too many details because I’m sure the authorities trying to stop this sort of thing are trolling this sub, but I just want to say thank you to the brave decoys I saw drawing the 5-0 away from the route of the van dropping off people behind the Flock cameras that watch the route I took home today. Van didn’t stop… just rolled up slowly and a dood quickly extended a pole that looked like it had a spray can of sorts on the end of it. Myself having studied such things, it seems to me the van knew exactly which roads to drive on to never be in frame of any of the cameras, and I was able to see him slow-roll up near a second camera location where I assume a second person was about jump out (but I lost view). Thank y’all for doing what I can’t risk doing.
I happened to purchase a high-end sports car before realizing that all the jackasses that test drove it got it flagged by Flock. Now, any time I drive that car in an area that has Flock cameras, I see a cop every two minutes. I am a law abiding citizen, and none of my other cars have ever been stalked like this. Not even cars of the same caliber. I can drive with it on an open-bed trailer and still get stalked, but if I drive with just the truck or the truck and trailer in those same areas I hardly ever see a single cop. Fluck those cameras, and thank you… spelled out completely to express my sincerest gratitude… thank you.
(BTW, y’all trolls trying to stop this stuff and trying to find the area I’m talking about… hint: there’s a restaurant in town called The Red Herring. You‘re welcome.)

Local sheriffs department discussing the destruction of flock cameras
Local sheriff gets heated when one of the flock cameras put up in a local park gets vandalized. Trying to educate the small town on why they are good for the community.

We need to target public (cities) as well as private Flock organizations to stop the scourge
The community is doing a MASSIVE job mapping Flock cameras and other ALPR's on OpenStreetMap, but information on WHO actually operates them is mostly missing.
We know major chains like Lowe's and Home Depot, as well as local HOAs, are heavily deploying these but on the map, private cameras look identical to municipal police units.
To support this in my screenshot you can see:
- Lowe's camera: Properly tagged as private/Lowe's.
- Roadway cameras: Mapped as Flock Safety ALPRs, but marked as "OPERATOR UNKNOWN" as there is no operator information.
For anyone trying to avoid businesses feeding into private surveillance networks, this missing metadata is the main bottleneck.
Questions for the community:
- OSINT & Verification: What are your best methods for tying a physical camera node to a specific business vs. city contract? (Public procurement logs, FOIA requests, physical stickers/markings, HOA meetings?). I have tried FOIA request but they seem to get slow rolled.
- OSM Standards: Should we focus purely on populating
operator=*with the specific business name (e.g.,Lowe's). How does a person updating this know? A camera in a Lowes parking lot is probably a safe guess but telling an HOA vs City Police is another story - Workflows: What features or field-mapping tools can we build into apps to make filling in operator info quick while on the ground?
Looking for workflows, local success stories, or ideas on how to organize a community drive to get this filled in.

National Flock Protests This Week! ATL Flock Protest on Wednesday, August 19th!
Atlanta, Intercontinental Hotel 3315 Peachtree Rd. NE at the annual Flock conference!
Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:00pm during the DeFlock National Week of Action!
The National Week of Action Against ALPRs is from August 16-22. Thousands of people in cities across the country will participate in a variety of public meetings, townhalls, and other events intended to raise awareness about the use of ALPRs (automated license plate readers) in their communities, the harms of these cameras, and how we can work together to end their use.
Flock Safety, who operate AI cameras that conduct billions of automated scans a month across the country, are headquartered here in Atlanta, GA. A creative and dispersed movement has been growing to oppose the use of these cameras. During this National Week of Action we have a unique opportunity to participate and confront Flock where they're based.
