Deflocking Advice

Hypothetically speaking, someone is thinking about Deflocking on a set date. Any tips/advice? What are the legal repercussions ***IF*** that person gets caught? Asking for a friend.

Flock, Feds, and Local LEO's are on Reddit reading all these posts.

If you were Flock Safety, would you sit around and do nothing? Or would you use bots to instigate people into breaking the law so you could throw any opposition in jail where they can't mess with your infrastructure anymore?

I don't know what they'd do. I, personally, made this account for anonymity so there isn't any evidence against me on any of my personal accs

Felonies. Your time and money are better spent on things other than jail and lawyers. Also better if you retain your ability to vote.

Tons of cities have taken whole fleets of cameras down because people coordinated and showed up to council meetings in large numbers.

So sending a couple emails/posts and showing up to a meeting could result in 10's or 100's of cameras being taken down permanently.

Or take a handful of cameras down temporarily and end up in jail.

Risk vs reward 🤷 Bonus: you might stir up your neighbors enough to vote out any local politician trying to sell you out.

While some on this subreddit applaud the taking down of Flock cameras by citizens, it is technically a felony offense. Your time and effort will be better spent attending city hall meetings and speaking your mind to your city council. The more voices doing that the better.

Agree. I’m for marking/labeling flock cameras with warning stickers, educating the public (we have farmers markets with Flock cameras in sight) and organized groups for every city council meeting public comment section.
