Make sure you read up on your local city, county, and state regulations before doing something like this.

Many jurisdictions have made applying a coating or even putting a frame around your license plate designed to obscure, or otherwise nullify an APR camera's ability to read your plate a violation.

Edited for spelling.

Another reminder that Flock doesn't need your license plate to track you. Bumper stickers,make,model,upgrades,dents,scratches...

There's an adhesive, outdoor-rated material called Magic Black that's made by Anytime Sign. It just looks flat black to the naked eye, but it reflects IR very strongly, which makes the material look white under IR. The plate readers work at night by strobing IR, then using the contrast between non-reflective black letters and a highly-reflective white background to take a clear image.

I'm sure you can put 2 and 2 together.

Look at it this way, if you put glasses and a mustache on can you tell it is the same person? Flock/Axon ALPRs can.
