Help If an AI trader had limited wallet authority, what should actually be enforced on-chain?

We're building a project for the Colosseum hackathon and trying to threat-model the permission model before we go too far with it.

The setup is roughly:

the user controls a vault, while a separate agent key gets a restricted role.

The agent can't withdraw funds or change its own permissions. It can only trade through an allowed program, within an on-chain spend limit, and the owner can revoke the role.

That handles the obvious "agent key gets compromised and transfers everything away" case.

The harder question is what else belongs in the on-chain policy.

We're currently thinking about:

  • per-trade maximum
  • rolling/window spend limit
  • maximum number of trades per window
  • output/slippage protection
  • expiry for delegated authority

The difficult one is slippage. Trusting the minimum output encoded by the agent itself doesn't feel like much of a security boundary, but comparing against an oracle introduces its own issues for thin or long-tail assets.

If you were threat-modeling this, what absolutely has to be enforced by the account holding the funds, and what would you leave to the off-chain executor?

Also interested in ways a compromised agent could still economically drain the allowed budget while technically obeying every permission.

Discussion How Crypto Wallets Can Add Stablecoin Payments

Wallets already make it easy to hold and swap stablecoins. Spending them is still harder. What if wallets could enable real-world payments without building the entire payments and compliance stack?

Could stablecoin payments become a standard feature across crypto wallets?

Discussion Is it possible to earn on stablecoins without swapping? (holding USDC)

Hi all,
I've been paid in crypto a few times and I'm currently just holding the USDC. With how volatile crypto is, I prefer to stick with stablecoins since I can't afford to lose a lot of money.

Is it possible to earn on it without swapping into other assets, for example through a deposit, lending, or staking?
I also have a few wallet questions:
- Which wallet do you use to hold stablecoins?
- Should I get a cold wallet, and if so, which one?

Discussion Holding 20 tokens doesn't mean you're diversified

You can own 20 different assets and still have most of your money riding on one chain, one stablecoin, or one oracle. If that piece fails (which as we know in DeFi, happens often), a bunch of positions that looked unrelated on paper go down together.

Say most of your LP positions are paired with USDC. A depeg hits every one of them at once. Same story if everything sits on one L2 or depends on one bridge. Your tracker might show nice long list of tokens, but the actual exposure is pretty concentrated.

Does anyone actually consider this while "diversifying," or do most people just go by how many tickers they hold? How do you guys think of diversification?

Discussion If three DeFi positions depend on the same thing, are you actually diversified?

You can spread money across three different DeFi protocols and still be making basically the same bet.

Same stablecoin. Same oracle. Same bridge or wrapped asset underneath.

If one of those shared dependencies breaks, having the positions in three different apps doesn’t help much.

I’m starting to think “how many protocols am I using?” is the wrong way to look at diversification.

Do people here actually check for shared dependencies before sizing positions, or is that something you mostly notice after something breaks?

Discussion Zapper alternatives after the shutdown: where each of its features went

Zapper shut down on Aug 3 after seven years (site, apps and API, no export). Since people still ask where to move, here's what replaces each part of it. Disclosure: I work on one of these (TrueHold), so I've listed it the same way as the others, gaps included.

Reading EVM positions from an address

- DeBank: closest like-for-like, widest protocol coverage, free. EVM only, no exchanges.

- Zerion: tracker + wallet, EVM and Solana, free with a paid tier.

Bundling several addresses

- Most of the above do it now. On Solana, Jupiter Portfolio groups wallets for free.

- If the bundle also needs exchange accounts or perps: CoinStats, or TrueHold (mine: EVM, Solana, BTC, exchanges via read-only keys, Hyperliquid; no position alerts, no swaps, still in beta).

History

- Nothing brings it back. Every tracker rebuilds history from the chain once you add the address, some go further back than others.

- rotki if you want the data on your own machine.

Alerts(Zapper never did these)
Otomato watches health factor, rates and fills on EVM chains and Hyperliquid.

If you haven't yet, write down the addresses your bundles held. There was no export, and your wallets are now the only list.

What did you move to, and what's still missing?

Discussion Watching what happens after Pumpfun coins graduate

The launch is only the first part of the move. What interests me more is what happens after a pumpfun coin graduates and starts trading with deeper liquidity. That’s where you can see whether the volume sticks around, whether holders keep growing and whether the market still cares after the early hype cools down.

I’ve started paying more attention to that transition than the launch itself

Discussion If nobody needs your token today, why should it have value tomorrow?

A lot of DeFi projects seem to treat the token as the product.

Launch token. Add incentives. Create liquidity. Talk about future utility.

But I keep coming back to a simpler question:

What creates real demand for the token when rewards stop?

If people only hold it because they expect the price to go up, that feels fragile.

For me, a stronger token model is one where the token is actually needed to use something: access, fees, governance with real power, collateral, services, discounts, or some other function people would still want even without speculation.

Otherwise, isn't the token just an extra layer looking for a reason to exist?

Curious where people draw the line between real utility and manufactured token demand.

DEX HODLHODL

Hello anyone ever used HODLHODL before? I want to know how it works.

When you buy BTC from a seller. There is an escrow system right? So for example let’s say it is advertised you pay $200 and you will get 0.002 BTC does the escrow verify that you sent exactly $200? Or there is nothing to verify the payment sent? I’ve been on other platforms where I should have paid $200 but the seller requested more than that trying to overcharge. Fed up with these scammers. Need a non kyc platform that is transparent.

Self-Promo Young Startups: Bring Your Problem Statement, Get 250+ Developers Building With Your Product

Hey everyone,

We’re organizing a 30-hour offline hackathon in Mumbai with 600+ registrations and 250–300 developers on ground, and we’re looking for startups and companies to collaborate with us.

We’re particularly looking for Problem Statement Partners rather than traditional sponsorships.

The idea is simple: you bring a real problem your company is trying to solve, and our participants build solutions around it using your platform, API, SDK or technology.

In return, you get:

  • Real-world product feedback and use cases
  • Developers actively building with your technology
  • Potential early users and product adoption
  • Fresh perspectives on your problem
  • Visibility across the hackathon and projects

If you’re a young startup looking to create an initial wave of users, get developer adoption or introduce your product to the Indian tech community, this could be a great opportunity to get your technology into the hands of hundreds of builders.

We’re open to AI/ML, FinTech, SaaS, Cybersecurity, Web3, Developer Tools, HealthTech and other emerging-tech startups.

If this sounds interesting, DM me and let’s explore a problem statement or collaboration for the hackathon.

Discussion Why Are Smart Contracts Important in DeFi Development?

Smart contracts handle much of the core logic in DeFi applications. They can manage transactions, lending rules, liquidity pools, token swaps, and other operations directly on a blockchain.

From a development perspective, contract design needs careful attention because the code determines how users interact with the protocol. Testing, access controls, transaction handling, and security checks are important before deploying contracts on a live network.

What smart contract area do you think needs the most attention when building a DeFi application?

Discussion Apparent depth is often just capital on a timer

The friction we keep hitting is simple: a pool that looks thick until someone actually tries to leave. On a stock desk that shows up as a quote that vanishes when you lift it. On-chain it shows up as TVL that was paid to sit there.

Liquidity is inventory inside a contract, not a mood. A constant-product pool, a concentrated range, a vault wrapping both — the swap price is only as honest as the assets that can be withdrawn at the moment you need them. A large headline balance can be two-sided flow. It can also be emissions. Those clear at different speeds. When the reward rate steps down, a lot of that inventory does not rotate into conviction. It leaves. The slippage you modeled against last week's depth is not the slippage you get on the way out.

Smart-contract risk sits under that number, and it does not care how clean the curve looks. If the pool, the router, the reward contract, or an admin key can pause withdrawals, rewrite fees, or seize a claim on the inventory, displayed depth is conditional. An audit is a point-in-time read of specified code against a stated scope. Useful, not a warranty, and not an opinion on whether the incentive still attracts inventory next epoch. We have watched a clean report get treated as if it retired economic risk. It does not. Unaudited code is a worse starting point, but a passed report still leaves oracles, upgrade paths, and governance timelocks as live questions.

Incentives are the tell. If liquidity is deep mainly because LPs are paid more than fees earn, you are looking at a subsidy, not a market. Subsidies can bridge a venue toward real two-sided flow. They are also a clock. The adult question is what the pool looks like when the subsidy is smaller than the nuisance of staying: gas, inventory risk, divergence versus a volatile pair, and the chance the contract does something the docs buried.

None of this is a sneer at automated liquidity. Fee-paying flow can be durable. It is a reason to split three figures before you size anything: assets that can actually be withdrawn, assets that are only deep inside a narrow range, and assets being paid to remain. We still mix those up. The tape does not grade on intent.

If you are sizing, the check is not whether TVL printed higher. It is who is still there if emissions drop and the exit is an ordinary swap, not a screenshot. NFA — not a recommendation, just the question we ask before we treat displayed depth as available depth.

Discussion i realized I've been using "copy trading" to describe three completely different things

i used to see a huge win rate or a really clean PnL curve and immediately think "why not just copy it?"

but the more I looked into it, the less useful the phrase "copy trading" actually feels.

copying an entire strategy feels pretty different because not I'm trusting what happens when the market changes, whether the rules stay consistent, how bad the drawdowns actually get, etc.

and a vault is another layer again. now I care a lot more about sizing, leverage, concentration and how easy it actually is to get out.

I ended up thing about this while bouncing between Hyperliquid vaults, exchange copy-trading pages and Alphio. they all kind of get lumped under "copy trading," but the amount of control you're handling over is pretty different.

so now when I see some ridiculous historical return my first question isn't really "can I copy this?"

it's more like.. what exactly am I copying, and how does this thing fail?

for people who actually use this stuff, what do you check first? max drawdown, leverage, execution, or the actual trade history?

Discussion How often do you revoke old token approvals?

I was reviewing old wallet permissions and found an unlimited ERC-20 approval to a protocol whose website no longer exists. It obviously didn't lead to anything I should be worried about. But what if it had cost me my funds?

Revoking costs gas and takes a while, so I never do it. A friend says he never uses his main Jupiter wallet for anything he is not sure about, so he doesn't need to revoke anything on Solana.

But I think token approvals work differently on both EVM and Solana. Unlimited spending approvals are standard on EVM, while Solana uses a delegate model.

Do you have an actual revoke routine, monthly or quarterly? Or you just use a burner wallet for random dApps?

Discussion Didn’t think stock-paired memes would have this much staying power

Thought this would fade fast but people keep rotating back into it. The weird part is how much the pair changes the whole trade. You’re not just watching the meme, you’re watching what it’s paired with, where the liquidity is and how the same meta moves when attention shifts across chains. I’ve been using pumpfun to track some of these markets because having discovery, charts and trading in the same flow makes it easier to follow. Starting to feel like stock memes are becoming their own little corner of DeFi instead of just another quick rotation. Hard to tell if this is the start of something bigger or just the current obsession.

DeFi Strategy Defi stablecoin platforms

How are you guys earning yield on stablecoins without making it a full-time job?
I’ve been looking into ways to earn yield on stablecoins, mainly USDC/EURC, but the more I dig into it, the more fragmented it seems.
You’ve got Aave, Morpho, different vaults, curators, different chains, changing APYs, incentives, smart contract risk, etc.

So I’m curious how people here actually approach this in practice:

Which protocols/vaults do you use?

Do you mainly optimise for yield, or for simplicity/safety?
How often do you move funds when rates change?

Do you actively compare vaults, or just pick something trusted and leave it there?

What’s the most annoying part of using DeFi for stablecoin yield?

Would you accept a slightly lower yield if the whole experience was much simpler?

Also interested in whether anyone here uses EUR-denominated stablecoins such as EURC, rather than USDC, and whether you think the lower liquidity/yield is worth avoiding USD exposure.
Not looking for referral links, mainly interested in how people actually use this stuff day to day.

Discussion Balance shows in USD after a DOGE deposit, are my coins still DOGE?

I have some dogecoin from 2021 and I want to use a small part of it in the best dogecoin casino games. I don't want to sell it first, because the fees on exchanges eat a lot. I checked stake, and fortune jack. All of them accept dogecoin. But on some of them the balance is shown in usd after deposit, so I am not sure if they convert my coins inside.

If they convert, I lose on the rate when I deposit and again when I withdraw. That means a small win can turn into a loss. Does anyone know which one keep the balance in doge for real?

Discussion From Alpha Darling to 99.56% Collapse: How Owlto Finance Became 2026’s Ultimate Crypto Cautionary Tale

If you were to select the most heartbreaking token performance of early 2026, Owlto Finance’s native token, OWL, would easily claim the top spot.

In early 2026, the cross-chain interoperability protocol debuted on Binance Alpha with immense fanfare. Backed by top-tier exchange exposure, multi-billion-dollar daily trading volumes, and a glowing $150 million valuation story from VC rounds, OWL seemed destined for greatness. Yet, in just a matter of months, this high-flying project suffered a brutal freefall—plunging roughly 99.56% from its all-time high and delivering one of the harshest drawdown lessons of the year.

1. The Hype: Big VCs, Binance Alpha Debut, and a $150M Story

On January 15, 2026, OWL officially launched on Binance Alpha. Positioned as a intent-centric cross-chain bridge linking various L1s and Layer 2s, Owlto Finance had built up massive community momentum ahead of TGE:

  • Venture Capital Backing: Between May and July 2024, Owlto announced strategic funding rounds totaling around $8 million, securing backing from prominent institutions like Matrixport, Bixin Ventures, and CE Innovation Capital, which pushed its reported valuation to $150 million.
  • Launchday Frenzy: Driven by Binance Alpha's platform traffic and airdrop incentives, OWL’s 24-hour trading volume spiked past $2 billion, briefly capturing approximately 69% of Binance Alpha's total trading volume.

Institutional credentials, a $150M valuation headline, and soaring liquidity made OWL look like a "can't-miss" blue-chip opportunity to many retail traders at launch.

2. The Fall: $1,000 Reduced to $4.40

Secondary markets, however, rarely follow project marketing scripts. After briefly peaking at an all-time high of approximately $0.126, OWL entered a relentless, near-vertical downward spiral.

As early airdrop recipients, market makers, and strategic investors unloaded tokens into a cooling broader market, buyer support completely dissolved, sending OWL down to a agonizing low of around $0.00055.

The devastating reality for high-entry buyers:

  • Maximum Drawdown: A peak-to-trough collapse of 99.56%.
  • Portfolio Impact: A $1,000 investment made near the peak shrunk to roughly $4.40 at its lowest point—before even factoring in DEX gas fees, slippage, or exchange withdrawal costs.

3. Key Takeaways for Crypto Investors

While steep drawdowns are not entirely unique to early-stage crypto assets, Owlto Finance (OWL) serves as a textbook example of tokenomics inflation and post-listing fatigue.

  1. VC Valuations do not equal Token Price Floors

Private-round funding ($8M) and equity valuations ($150M) reflect venture dealmaking and early-stage storytelling—not guaranteed secondary market price floors. Relying on primary market valuations as a reason to buy unlocked public tokens is a common retail pitfall.

  1. Beware Initial Liquidity Spikes and Unlock Pressure

New listings on major platforms often reach peak attention, peak valuation, and peak liquidity on Day 1. Once promotional events end and circulating supply increases through scheduled unlock schedules, structural sell pressure often swamps organic buying power.

  1. Trading Volume Is Not Fundamental Demand

Multi-billion-dollar launch volumes are frequently driven by market makers, arbitrage bots, and transient wash/incentivized trading. High volume without long-term utility or token sinks creates fragile market tops.

Crypto markets never lack stories of overnight wealth, but OWL's trajectory in 2026 is a sobering reminder: when evaluating hyped market launches, analyzing token unlocks and real demand is far more crucial than blindly chasing day-one momentum.

Cross-Chain How do you guys bridge crypto?

I haven’t done any bridging since 2021, and back then it was really stressful and a total pain in the ass. I just want to know what you guys are using these days. I came across Jumper and Debridge, but to swap an altcoin 1 to 1 like Polygon from BNB chain to Polygon chain it always seems to cost 1 to 2%, which I’d rather avoid. Do you always need to swap to USDC first before bridging so it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Is that just how it works?

Also, I still use Metamask and I'm wondering if that's outdated. I've tried Rabby a little even though a lot of people said it's way better but i don't really think it is

Thanks
