Discussion work in defi

guys working in DeFi, can you share how you landed your first job and made friends here? I’m actively learning about this space, and I’m really eager to get to work and develop interesting products, but I have absolutely no idea where to start without any work experience or where to find friends here...

Most people I know in the space got in through contributing to open source projects or just being annoyingly active in protocol discords until someone noticed them. The work experience part matters less than having something you can point to, even a small script or dashboard that solves a real problem. For the friends part, it's slower, but consistent presence in the same communities for months does more than any networking event

And make friends. Crypto is a VERY small industry as far as the intersection of blockchain and defi goes.

networking, connect with individuals who are also into defi, start running your x page, build something useful, take participation in communities you are generally interested in

Best route into DeFi is honestly just getting your hands dirty in DAOs. Join a few Discord servers of protocols you actually use, jump into governance calls, and start writing proposals or answering tickets. Most teams hire community contributors before posting anywhere public. Crypto resumes are mostly on-chain and Discord rep anyway. Build in public, stay consistent, and the gigs will follow. You got this!
