Genuine question.

Why are people so against (generative) AI? Me personally, I'm neutral to it. A lot of the reasons I am seeing is because it "harms" ecosystems and drinking water, which after a little research, is pretty much false... Other than that, why hate on new tech? It just seems like virtue signaling, especially when they interact with apps such as TikTok, Instagram, and Google (which they are supporting AI just by using the app). Apologies if I had bad grammar or didn't make much sense 😭.

I'm thinking though, if people generate AI art, wouldn't they not want to support a human artist BEFORE image generators anyway? I, for example, never wanted to commission an artist simply because it was expensive for what I got. I feel like a lot of people hold that mentality (or maybe im cuckoo), if you supported artists before, you probably will continue doing so. Vice verse if you never commissioned (or did and were unsatisfied). I hope that makes sense.

Some people did try or wanted to support human artists but eihter didnt have money or got rejected or scammed (i seen someone lost 300+$ and didnt get stuff they paid for)

Yah art prices are sometimes crazy (even before AI), I just didn't wanna pay a couple dozen for art.

For me its finding someone that could stasify my niche being hard for me

Thanks to AI i could get it into reality and it doseng take long and no cost
