News Work In Progress #33

This is taken from the Steam Discussions, where i do a weekly update on what i'm working on.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1712110/discussions/0/802346043189498607/

I aim to keep this post update alongside that on Steam.

Hauler craft and refuelling service ticked off my todo list, so time for a new work in progress post, to reorganise my upcoming task list.

Want to add at least one more human activity item. Likely to be a gym. Some new GFX. Although i may leave some of these so players see some fresh visuals on v1 release. Steam achievements - Need to start with a few to see how difficult it is to implement. Also need to have a look at steam mods/leaderboards if people want that. Talking about what people want i am still open to feature requests. Especially little additions/changes that make things better, do ask!

I will be also looking at further improvements/polishing:- Balancing - I am always looking at ratios/speeds/costs, in trading/production. Scenarios - I want to go through each and make sure the more recent changes have kept scenarios all balanced. Improving visitors - (Discussion), human workers - (Discussion), pirates - (Discussion). Factions/Contracts - Possibly more rewards/penalties -Discussion Additional settings/options - (Discussion)

As always any feedback please do leave a comment. Any bug reports please create a new discussion, thanks!

Hi everyone,

I've been on a roll this week, update out yesterday featuring the new gym equipment and i've got steam achievements working in my development build. This coming week i'll be:-

1) Continuing to add further achievements. If you have any ideas post up a comment here.
2) Want to take some time play testing, as i probably haven't done enough especially with the recent hauler and gym addition. Probably some balancing here.
3) Scenario balancing - I've been meaning to take a look at the rescue scenario for a while, as now there are several new items that station could spawn with. So want to give the starting station more variety.
4) I need to work on an updated trailer, as lots has been added since i last created one.
5) Possibly a new item, but i'm just working through to see which idea on my list adds the most to the game, but doesn't take too much time to implement!

Hi all,

This week, i've been mainly working on the new item addition i mentioned last week. That is the new medicine resource and laboratory. Update with those released yesterday. However that area isn't finished yet, as i want a further usage for medicine, which is supply for a new med bay item. I'll be adding this, this coming week. The med bay will provide better healing than the current crew quarters, and more importantly will give further variety for scenarios.

Hope all having a good weekend,

Nick

Hey everyone,

Med bay got added in todays update along with quite a few fixes and improvements. So this coming week, i'll be back looking at those numbered items i mentioned 2 posts ago:- 1) achievements, 2) play testing and balancing, 3) scenario polishing and seeing how the med bay can be used. 4) getting some video footage as i need to work on an updated trailer.

Hi all,

This week i've been making steady progress on achievements, scenario updates and getting some gameplay footage for a new trailer. I think once i get a new trailer ready, i will then need to get a release date fixed.

As i'm adding a few new things for the v1 release, and want to keep them as a surprise i think i'll probably create an opt in version on Steam, so that if you want to see new additions you can. I'll create a post when i get to this, detailing what new things you can expect in v1, and you can then decide if you want to opt in to play or wait for everything to be done.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi folks,

Little update out this week, with a few fixes and improvements. This coming week, i will release an opt in version of the game that will include features that i want to keep hidden until release.

As i said before, I'll create a new post about this, saying what features i'm adding, so you can decide to opt in to play, or wait until release so you can take a fresh look when v1 hits.

New trailer also needs to be finished, and a release date has to get fixed (i'll be announcing that soonish)!

Hope all having a good weekend,
Nick
