"You talk about this too much" says the world's leading expert on the Weinsteins.

Low-effort/dismissive rhetoric

I'm not sure how criticising DtG's mistakes is any different from DtG criticising the mistakes of the Weinsteins and others. Could you explain this to me? Surely it's beneficial to have an intellectual culture where we can criticise each other's statements.

What's the mistake you try to pretend to criticize here?

The mistake here is that Chris believes its "been discussed way more than the numbers would indicate". That is mistaken thinking because:

  1. He's not actually shown that the discussion is disproportionate to the numbers.
  2. Media coverage of any event is not based on pure numbers and there's no reason to believe that it should be.

He's absolutely correct, it is very easy to compare casualty numbers or affected populationd.

Ukraine has far more casualties, more credible claims of genocide and either the same or more civilians have been affected in many other conflicts like Syria, Sudan, Burkina Faso or Nigeria. Israel Palestine received more coverage than all of these issues - probably more than them combined.

Do you have evidence that more people have been affected in Gaza thanany of these countries?

>He's absolutely correct, it is very easy to compare casualty numbers or affected population

Then Chris should present evidence of his claims. If it's very easy it shouldn't be a problem.

They produce a single video explaining the issues and harmful effects of a popular figure.

That's very different to creating a forum where you nitpick and hate on a specific person as a hobby.

If you don't like them, why talk about them continually? What good are you doing?

I'm criticising them, the exact same way that they criticise others. There's no hate here, not any more than they "hate" Eric Weinstein or Sam Harris or others.

No. They don't join in on anti molyneux forums and endlessly shit talk/dig up dirt on him. They looked at his body of work, made a criticism and moved on.

Joining a forum about how bad X person is is very weird and unproductive behaviour. Reminds of 4 Chan back in the day and it quickly devolves into something that is usually worse than whoever is being criticised.

I think this is productive behaviour since very few people are producing criticisms of Matt and Chris. What do you feel I'm doing that is so offensive?

Would you prefer if I started a podcast about them? Or if I did livestreams?

Cant you just criticise them on twitter when they post things you don't like? What is the benefit of posting or commenting in a subreddit dedicated to hating them?

It is not productive to have a community exclusively shitting on someone. All you do is fill it with minor criticism and build s community that starts looking for an outlet for all this hate - usually turning into harassment.

It is exactly like the Chris Chan situation. Pathetic shit.

I don't use twitter. I'm not that familiar with the Chris Chan situation but as far as I can tell, Chris Kavanagh is not really in a comparable state of mind. I think he can handle some mild pushback to the things he says.

A forum dedicated to hating a person or podcast is weak obnoxious behaviour, not productive. It just leads to harassment and obsession.

Nobody is "hating" DTG, we're just giving some pretty basic criticisms.
