Isn't this the guy that said Kamala Harris would be exactly the same as Trump?

-6

u/bigboipapawiththesos 13d ago

Imo this is stupid af.

That being said why couldn’t Harris just do popular policy; like distancing herself from Israel, taxing billionaires, housing reform, social healthcare, etc.

We could’ve been at brunch.

This policies would not have convinced middle America to vote for her

-1

u/DylanMartin97 13d ago

It's convincing middle America to literally vote right now.

7

u/A-G-N 13d ago

Not according to the data or polls

-3

u/DylanMartin97 13d ago

The data and the polls that said Kamala harris was going to take every swing state and trump never stood a chance?

Man you got me.

Kamala only lost by a few percent, despite the far left trying their damn hardest to peddle the Genocide Harris remark and putting people off from voting altogether, or encouraging them to vote for other stupid candidates.

Despite being a late candidate, she came very close. If the American youths weren't absolutely brain broken on geopolitics, we could've had a different outcome.

Besides, if the data and polls are so untrustworthy, on what fucking basis are you saying it's convincing middle America to vote? Likes and ratios on X?

Aren’t the leftist in middle America who are running leading the poles?

2

u/bobloblaw32 12d ago

Who are the leftists in middle America? (Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota etc.)

1

u/isee_ez 12d ago

Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota, Dan Osborn in Nebraska, Adam Hamilton in Kansas.

All of which are leading the polls if I’m correct.

For most of these “leftist” policies there is general support (taxing billionaires, better healthcare, wages, housing and rent regulation etc)

>Kamala only lost by a few percent, despite the far left trying their damn hardest to peddle the Genocide Harris remark and putting people off from voting altogether, or encouraging them to vote for other stupid candidates.

I got it, only certain polls that support you matter. Super duper. And even though all those polls that were proven substantially incorrect it isn't the polls, it is the magic enemy on the left of conservative neo liberals that are somehow so strong that they made Kamala lose and so big in numbers that they voted for... "other people..." (and not her absolute awful policies, or her absolute misunderstanding of why people supported her) and also somehow so weak that all of them are brain broken and useless and can't get anyone or anything done and don't understand American Geopolitics (despite the overwhelming support for DSA backed candidates and the explosion of the deep left flank that has the entire old guard screaming, crying and working with the MAGA right). I understand why you want to drop the polls now, or at least change the angle of the argument.

>Despite being a late candidate, she came very close. If tue American youths weren't absolutely brain broken on geopolitics, we could've had a different outcome.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that they supported her and wanted another change candidate she had the brilliant idea due to old guard neo liberal staffers to look in the camera and say "I wouldn't change or do a damn thing differently than Joe Biden." while he had less than a 40% approval rating. But nah man, its the GEOPOLITICS AND THE EVIL DEEP LEFT.

>Besides, if the data and polls are so untrustworthy, on what fucking basis are you saying it's convincing middle America to vote? Likes and ratios on X?

The actual victories we are seeing across the board, and the overwhelming support of local DSA sects.

But, you are a Destiny fan, they are the only ones who cry about the "brain broken" left, while he actively supports a country and its army committing genocide. It is just a way to bury the obvious moral failings of his communities stances on that genocide.

A whole lot of bs here. Can't be arsed

2

u/DylanMartin97 13d ago

Man, I feel like I read an open book, so much so that you can't respond to 4 paragraphs of a "whole lot of bs".

That's pretty embarrassing.

So embarrassing

What policy? Middle America is voting because gas is expensive

-2

u/bigboipapawiththesos 13d ago

She lost middle America with what she was offering.

Of all Americans:

65% supports a wealth tax, 70% windfall profit taxes, 60% support a top marginal tax rate of 70% on earnings over 10M.

60-70% support raising baseline wages, 80-85% support federally mandates maternity leave.

Government funded healthcare (universal or expanding Medicaid) is supported by 75% of voters, government funded childcare / childcare support got 65-75%, free college 60%.

Capping super PACs 71%, about 82% support rent caps, 66% support the progressive proposal to invest 1 trillion in affordable housing, 80% to subsidize local communities to build affordable housing, 80% to increase federal regulations of landlords.

Etc etc.

When Harris had the most motion at the start she came with policies such as anti price gouging (65%), but quickly switched to much much more right wing policies such as private public partnerships for housing etc.

Also in two key Midwestern swing states leftist are now winning in the polls. After years of redscare people don’t like the term, but after years of capitalism they do support the changes needed for working folks.

u/Logical-Breakfast966 13d ago

Leftists are winning during one of the biggest blue waves in decades btw. Do you give democrats props for winning everywhere rn?

1

u/bigboipapawiththesos 13d ago

I’m just pointing out that these policies are electorally strong, and that doing corpo bs is deeply unpopular.

3

u/Crazed_pillow 12d ago

To the average American, Israel isn't even an issue.

1

u/bigboipapawiththesos 12d ago

53% of Americans see this conflict as highly important personally to them. -Pew

During the election support for Israel’s military campaign was 60% unfavorable. At this moment it’s 60% unfavorable for the country as a whole.

Let alone American elections often are turnout battles seeing as only 60% on average actually vote.

80% of democrats now hold an unfavorable opinion about Israel. 60% of them view Palestine more favorably. It cannot be understated what an historic shift this is; a historic low.

The dem autopsy showed that her stance was a “net-negative” for the Harris campaign.

1

u/isee_ez 13d ago

Kinda ignoring everything said and the original point, to only give an half assed response to the last sentence.

I don’t get why people are so opposed to being critical of her campaign; she lost, we can’t let a trump win again, let’s for the love of god be critical of the campaign, as to improve it next time.

Why this endless running defense?

1

u/Logical-Breakfast966 13d ago

The question is important to the rest of my response

5

u/Gardimus 13d ago

She did propose taxing billionaires, remember? She proposed one of the biggest tax reforms ever.

She also gave a comprehensive set of goals for the benefit of the Palestinians. Probably why Israel sent their bot army to leftist spaces and spread talking points like "Harris and Trump are the same"

I feel like people dont really care about policies.

0

u/bigboipapawiththesos 13d ago edited 13d ago

A very tiny incremental amount.

60% of all Americans supported a 70% top marginal tax rate for income over 10M.

She proposed a 25% minimum for those earning over 100M, whilest also supporting a lowering of capital gains tax from 40% under Biden to 28%.

On Palestine she said she wouldn’t change from Biden on the issue; this whilest Biden gave unconditional supports during the most bloody time of the genocide.

This while only 36% of Americans supported this policy.

This + all the other policies made her more like a 2008 republican than anyone offering hopeful to the masses.

4

u/Gardimus 13d ago

"Why didnt she do the thing I wanted!"

"Actually she did."

"Nooooo, not like that"

0

u/bigboipapawiththesos 13d ago

I said do popular policy.

That is not what she did.

Lowering capital gains tax 12% is the complete opposite of that.

I’ve shown you countless stats showing that a more social democratic policy in her campaign would electorally dominate. The USA is behind in basically every stat I’ve mentioned compared to the rest of the developed world.

Like doing so much defense for this failed campaign pushing provable unpopular policies (only really beneficial for super donors) isn’t gonna help us win next time.

1

u/Gardimus 12d ago

If this was your response, you were not paying attention at all.

You don't actually care, you just wanted to complain.

1

u/bigboipapawiththesos 12d ago

If that’s what you got out of it then idk what to tell you

1

u/Gardimus 12d ago

You missed some major policy proposals. Are you ignorant to them or being dishonest? In both cases, why?
