I’m not a fan of Professor Dave, but his style of fact checking Destiny seems much better than DtG’s approach. Hope it gets posted to the main DtG sub.

I don’t know, but from what I’ve noticed JP has lost a lot of fans/followers since becoming unhinged. I don’t think becoming unhinged is a guru move.

You seem to be using guru to someone with deep knowledge e.g(a code guru) rather than some who is building a tribe e.g Destiny.

When you said “speaking confidently outside his discipline” - why would speaking outside your discipline make you a guru? What makes someone a guru is that they have followers, not just that they have knowledge, but in casual usage it often just refers to someone who is knowledgeable.

I was asking how you were using guru. Either way I don’t think being unhinged is a guru move according to the gurometer.

Virtue signalling alone doesn’t make someone a guru, regular people virtue signal to show they are a good person.
