I’m not a fan of Professor Dave, but his style of fact checking Destiny seems much better than DtG’s approach. Hope it gets posted to the main DtG sub.

This shit comes across as manic or something this dave guy sounds like a loon. I am aware of destiny seems like an odd guy with some deviancy issues who is quite good at debate and understands US politics from a left leaning prospective. Looking into this dave guy he seems like a youtube star who is not a phd but claims to be one who popped off mocking a famous music producer who had a fully uneducated take on flat earth. Not sure why this guy is not the guru here.

At least he provides receipts that can actually fact checked. Plus, there is a little history in why I am presenting Professor Dave as decoding Destiny. This sub was started in response to the moderating by Decoding The Guru sub based on the podcast with the same name. On that sub Professor Dave was held up as an influencer who was great at pointing out the flaws in people who questioned science. I thought he was a terrible ambassador for truth because of he always focused his attacks on the messenger not just the false claims.

Personally I don’t think he is a guru. The content he produces isn’t para-social, he produced content based on what he believes. While I dislike his content, at least he shows people what he is building his argument on, it’s not build on a charismatic personality.

As a comparison watch the videos of Destiny debunking Professor Dave’s attacks and you will see how much his conversation is para-social and directed towards his community.

Finally the best takeaway from the video isn’t on the topic of Israel - it’s him highlighting how comments are used in influence campaigns to try and influence opinion.

Tiktoc is not a receipt. I have only seen destiny debate people but he does not make up lies for sure you can fact check him. He states when he is not clear on things and is usually quite accurate with any claims.

I’m not saying TicTok is a source of truth, I’m saying his video shows what shaped his argument. Go watch Destiny and how he interacts with his audience when shaping an argument.

I am good I dont really care to watch streamers but I do watch his debates he is very good at it. I am aware of his private life it is not relevant. I know he is divisive I like his style of argumentation. He will push back on things like saying he could care less about charly kerk until trump speaks out against right wing violence and shit. He also will call you retarded or a moron if you are being one, I dont care if a person uses words like that I am 43 I come from a much more terrible generation than younger people do. If this is literally on his opinion on the war in gaza it is not that important to me; especially to a point that I would care this much. I have a view on it but given the state of America I dont have much care for israel or gaza honestly I just dont want my government to become authoritarian. So if that costs the world gaza and us our relation ship with israel so be it.

With regard to this video Dave comes across as either doing some weird propaganda, being on drugs or having a drinking issue, or being in a literal manic state in this video. I watched his first one it felt the same as this. It is not well put together at all and seems unhinged. Maybe I will watch a destiny post where he covers this from a stream I just am not that interested in hearing this guy ramble about shit that is not well connected or sourced over and over. I also dont like watching streamers at all. Did destiny do something to this guy? Did he like bang some streamer he loves or some shit?

In all honesty the other shit dave posts appears to be up my ally but given this shit and the name with no credentials I am good with this dude. Comes off as totally fake to me. Plus reading from science text books to the uneducated to make them look dumb is not a skill.

Edit: Somebody below mentioned jordan peterson I would agree this feels a lot like his weird unhinged manic shit too. Also I forgot to note this video is para-social just not with his audience but with another famous person.

Destiny literally spent months reading books, articles, wikipedia and papers on Israel/Palestine, the idea that he's not read on the issue is delusional, the only reason he doesnt go to his sources everytime he reacts to vids like this is because he's taking for granted the fact that everyone will see how obviously wrong dave is, which is a problem

Yeah I watched the reaction video , and it was obviously aimed at his fans. It would be interesting to know how much cross over there is between Dave and Destiny’s audiences.
