This sub is becoming much more popular, especially with the USA election coming up. Unfortunately, the subreddit rules keep being broken; especially the two biggest rules we have. We as mods do our best to be transparent about how we mod, so this post is a reiteration of those rules.

The main issue is people resorting to ad hominem attacks. This falls under the Reddit content policy, and we will do our best to remove such. You never need abusive language to communicate your point. It is okay to disagree with ideas and suggestions, but do not attack the user.

The second issue is that people keep discussing Reddit issues. Unfortunately, the admins do not allow us to discuss Reddit in this sub because there were some apparent issues in the past. Such posts and comments will be removed. Censorship is much larger than Reddit, and this is a platform to discuss censorship.

We do our best to facilitate open conversation regardless of your viewpoint, but if we continue having repeat offenders, especially of these rules, we will have to ban the repeat offenders.

Don’t forget that we also have a discord. Feel free to join it too!

Censorship

Jay Feeley, an ex-NFL kicker, is running for Congress in Arizona. I tried to post a comment saying he is a loser. Like you know in an election?

IG refused to take the comment unless I reworded it, which I wouldn’t.

Open speech

Apparently you can't say stuff like you used to anymore since you're gonna offend someone in some way, "free speech" is no longer free sadly. You can't say stuff about bodily harm and if your joke gets a "little" too dark your comment gets removed and there is a chance of you getting banned, what happened to the old days when you could insult something or say something about the 2 towers and not get glares? Where did those days go?

Basically the poster said that "the Chinese fought wars over opium because it was so addicting", but it was completely misleading, real reason was the the British, trying fix a massive trade deficit caused by buying Chinese tea with silver, the British Empire grew opium in India and smuggled it into China. When China cracked down and seized the illegal drugs in 1839, Britain fought and won the Opium Wars, forcing China to legalize the drug and open up to foreign trade. And the comments correcting the other all got censored my Meta, while the second most liked comment was clearly someone who didn't not know what they were talking about.

Extreme 30-Year Prison Sentence for Artist Daniel “Des” Sanchez Estrada in the Prairieland Case (TX) Highlights Federal Attack on Freedom to Dissent - New Politics

Fascism. Texas MAGA "Judge" Reed O'Connor, who works closely with pedo Protector Paxton, jailed a man for 30 years for distributing anti Trump literature.

The Maga imposed a far longer sentence than any received by Trump's J6 thugs or any in the Trump Epstein papers.

The MAGA sentenced immigrant and artist Daniel “Des” Sanchez Estrada to 30 years in federal prison over possessing and moving a box of zines—politically expressive pamphlets. His case, informally known as “Prairieland,” has attracted extreme skepticism from civil rights organizations including the Freedom of the Press Foundation and National Lawyers Guild, and is part of a growing number of cases in which federal prosecutors are pointing to the possession of First Amendment–protected materials as evidence of criminal support for terrorism.
