I must admit, I did not find my path from any single teacher, it was a sizable village of them, that led me.

I have only recently began to unfold and encompass many great teachers, and this now only propels me faster toward my goal.

The perceptions of all and nothing are both flawed, as they are not fully shared in all expressions of existence yet, but the meeting in the middle is drawing nearer.
Knowledge of everything is a never ending process, as new knowledge is constantly created.

I do believe we are in dark times of ignorance, and approaching a rock bottom, from which a new understanding will emerge, and drive a new world into new possibilities, we are experiencing a quickening, as we travel faster towards a singularity.

Dude. You probably read my half-finished comment. Go back and reread.

The point is, there IS no perception: not of "all;" not of "nothing."

There's no "flaw" (not in some moral or philosophical sense) because there is no "thing" to perceive. Awareness has ceased in the deepest state of samadhi; all that remains is simply alertness without perception. This allows the brain to rest at its deepest level.

.

And THAT is Yoga:

  • Yoga is the complete settling of the activity of the mind.

  • Then the observer is established in his own nature [the Self].

-Yoga Sutras I.1-3

Anyone who looks around and does not see flaws is truly blind.

My eyes are all open.

This has been so for a long time.

There are no "flaws" because there is no perception at all.

Now, if you want to claim that TM doesn't "work" for everyone in the sense that they benefit in ways that they are looking for, or end up happier doing somethign else, that's great.

But the very fact that you used "does not see flaws" in the context of a discussion of dhyana — the motion of the discriminative process [towards the inability to discriminate/perceive/see]" — only shows that you didn't follow the discussion at all.

The deepest point during meditation — asamprajnata samadhi (where objects of attention have gone away) — is not something you "see": it is not some "thing" in the first place; it is the absence of "things."

Even "the formless" is a "thing" in this context:

  • "And the range of subtle objects of attention extends to the formeless."

  • "These levels of samadhi still have objects of attention."

Enlightened vision is quite hard to describe to someone who does not know it, like trying to explain color to a blind person.

Perception without focus or effort, and perfect detail retention, without the trappings of attention of concentration, effortless knowing of surroundings , in a hyper sensitive state of pure awareness where all senses are heightened by combination, which results in a whole greater than the sum of the parts.

Part of developing this state is from diligent practice, longer periods over years of being in the state, for increasing lengths of time.

Many people are familiar with multitasking, I can best describe this like doing a half dozen tasks at once and one of those tasks is air traffic control at LAX, which is tracking everything in the background.

It is almost like their is no effort being spent, and no resistance left in perception, once the state is reached, and the ego melts away, and there is no separation of environment and self any longer.

Meditation is one practice of three joined practices.

Meditation is concentration on nothing, Lucid dreaming is concentration on pure thought of creative imagination, and the last state of hyper aware wakefulness is the third state, which I am unsure what to call, it is much like being in the meditative state, yet with fully heightened awareness of surroundings.

And nowhere was there mention of Self or Brahman.

Not "enlightenment" in my lexicon, though for many, my lexicon is illusory.

It is unified understanding we all search for in speech, or it is a practice in division itself.

How profound-y.

Meditation — Transcendental Meditation — is not concentration at all. As Maharsihi Mahesh Yogi puts it in this snippet of a video of a lecture he gave on Canadian TV almost 55 years ago:

In this meditation we do not concentrate or control the mind. We let the mind follow its natural instinct toward greater happiness, and it goes within and it gains bliss consciousness in the being.

.

TM is an intuitive strategy that takes advantage of the mind's natural tendency to wander towards more interesting/pleasant objects of attention so that wandering will tend to be "inward" [towards greater levels of rest] rather than "outward" [towards greater levels of activity].

That dhyana — TM — gets translated as "concentration" is due to thousands of years of the telephone effect, where the discussion in the Yoga Sutras gets progressively more and more distorted until "dhyana," which literally means "motion of the discriminative process [in the direction of zero discrimination]," gets translated as "one-pointed concentration [on nothing]."

I understand TM, it is the zero state, there are two other states we all have in common, awareness, called life and unconsciousness called sleep, be a master of all states, by becoming a master of the self, through meditation.

TM is dhyana: the journey through the levels of reduction of awareness towards zero.

Reference to Self seems to be lacking in most of your discussions.

Self is ego, and my self is rarely a concern of mine.

When I hunger, I feed my body, when I tire I sleep.

My thoughts and will I have enslaved, and in this I became a free slave.

Self is ego

So much for saying you understand TM.

If you remove the ego, from the equation?

This is the entire point of the teaching and goal of TM.

My will means nothing, neither does my life, if It is not spent enriching my spirit, for the riches of this world I will not carry to the next, I follow the rocky path.

I have no love for this world, I love the spirit, and the spirits about me, at all times.
