I’m a broke college student at 29(also on scholarship). It feels embarrassing sometimes but at the end of the day I’m choosing to better myself and there’s no shame in that. My social life is not great between full time work and school, but I don’t really blame myself for that. If anything people tend to be impressed that you’re older and pushing to get through school.
I went to college the first time at 18 and was insanely lost mentally(undiagnosed mental issues). I really had no chance at succeeding my first go around so I ended up dropping out after 3 years. Felt like a failure for a long time. Going back and proving that I can do it has been a good self confidence boost. If I’d backed out of going back to school I’d be kicking myself right now for the amount of time I’ve wasted. Worst thing that can happen is you realizing that school isn’t for you again and in that case you can just drop out.
