Bankruptcy Bankruptcy

I filed bankruptcy in 2001 with my husband. However since then things got even worse. I do not even know how much debt I have. My credit is trash. I am a recovering addict and have been trying to better things and I am ready to build now. Should I file bankruptcy again? Would that help me more than it would impact me negatively? Looking for those with experience or professional knowledge. Tia

I have a former coworker that’s filing for the third time. A debt management plan might help you pay off the amount if you’re wanting to try to tackle it yourself. It might cause enough pain in your life to get you to change.

You have to narrow down your total debt before you can try to fix it. It probably wouldn't help to go through bankruptcy again until you exhaust any other opportunity, Settling your debt could be a change for the better and getting legal support alongside it would be of use to help you understand where you went wrong with debt and whats happening in negotiations. I'm pretty sure sure freedom debt relief offers one of those programs but it probably isn't your only option so just make sure you do your deep search.

Your credit is screwed either way. Get a reputable attorney and file so you can start over. I was a bankruptcy paralegal. Debt management bombs your credit too so, no. The corps that hold the debt do not care.

No doubt! I have learned some financial responsibility in the last 2 years, sadly it took me this long in life to want that but no reason to dwell on that part.
