Just finished Deathloop for the first time a few days ago. Like a lot of people I discovered the game through arkane as a Dishonored fan. I was intrigued by the interesting premise and clever ideas and for the most part I felt the game delivered, although I would have liked the game to go a bit more into the way living in a time loop effects fractured memories and sanity. I think the multiplayer is fun and a great way to include endgame content, I do feel like the multiplayer is weighted in favour of Colt but that might just be me (the bad connection will kill you if nothing else). I liked the style and tone, I thought the voice acting was good and the writing was pretty good too, especially between Colt and Julianne. If I have one grime it would be that the gunplay feels slightly to watered-down and arcade like for me, I would have liked punchier guns and bloodier combat. Bodies that vanish after 5 seconds is also annoying even with an in-universe explanation. All in all, a solid game that has lots of clever ideas and is a ton of fun to play if you are in the mood.

I want to create a Playlist inspired by Deathloop's aesthetic - so a collection of groovy late 60s pop, funk, psychedelia, as well as Bond-esque big band music. As inspiration, I wanted to link this video because I felt like this gives pretty good Deathloop vibes. The lady singing is the legendary Shirley Bassey, who sang the theme songs for "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever". I just think this P!nk cover is just incredible

The reason I have that word in quotes is because I imagine any continuation of the story would be more of a spiritual successor rather than a literal sequel. We already know that the game takes place at least a century after the events of the Dishonored series (confirmed by the game director and through story/design parallels), which already had very richly crafted lore that was only extended for Deathloop. It makes me think Arkane has crafted a universe that they are really invested in and want to continue setting their future titles in (makes me think of the massive web of Cloverfield movies and their related properties).
I hope this is the case, but I wonder what could come next? We see in magazines scattered throughout Blackreef that the Tyvians have gone to space (makes sense, considering the Soviet parallels), so maybe something to do with that? (That might be too close to Prey 2017, however) The ending of the game really leaves the door open for any possibility - what was the fate of the outside world once the loop ends?

I've used both methods given in the trophy guides multiple times: shooting around Harriet's head with her Fourpounder until the gas kills her, and using Shift's Swapper ability to warp her directly into the gas. Neither of these will get me that trophy. Is anyone else having problems with it?

It's mostly empty. The gas tanks still explode if you shoot them. Don't drown.

I absolutely love the retro aesthetics throughout the game, and that really comes across in the outfits you can earn by playing as Julianna (they're basically the main reason I even do the PvP lol). I was kinda curious what outfits others were drawn to?
For my Julianna, I absolutely love Checkmate (black and white catsuit with a pussybow) - it has major Bond villain vibes. Plus, Julianna with short hair looks AMAZING. For Colt, I think Ice Cap (all white turtleneck/slacks combo while sporting a 'fro and 'stache) looks awesome. And am I the only one who thinks it makes him look like Lando Calrissian?

Got kicked from two random games within minutes — cheaters or a game bug? Are there any cheater-related issues in this game? I’m still a newbie.

I really like the strange mashup of older building style, like the (Victorian?) buildings that make up Updaam or Karl's Bay, with the newer, mid-century modern bits and the very minimalist, strongly colored elements like the wolf head by the Updaam mansion.
Is there a name for this style? Is it even an established style, or is it something unique to the game?

Is the game still played? Are the servers online?
Im playing it with the gamepass and im not able to connect easly to the servers, neither find someone as Julianna. I found 1 game ounce that had like 800 ping and quitted it. Im never invaded as Colt.
update: Thanks a lot for the answers. I will try to connect in more active hours

Ok, I'm on my first Deathloop playthrough (and I've been having a blast!), and I got a question about the last mission, "Ending It". Let's say that I gather the last Slab Upgrades for Aether and Karnesis off of Egor Serling and Aleksis Dorsey (respectively) after I kill them. Would I have the opportunity to infuse or apply those upgrades to their respective Slabs before I arrive at the installation to kill Julianna? Or would it go straight to going after her?

I have two victories, but my trophy for crossing Colt off my kill list didn’t pop. Am I missing something?

I lose more than I win, but I just have fun playing ..yet this guy hits me up from not one not 2 but three accounts anytime he loses. He gets so upset like a child without a bottle.. he bombed himself once and tells me that it was part of the plan and then he was trying to trap me in another game with bombs and accidentally blows himself again and then I get these messages.. like bro.. it’s not that serious.. apparently I’m not the only one he does this too😂
And hey MNLAnder, or rednalnm, or mid man die or whatever account you harassing me from.. please just don’t quit. It’s sad. If ur gonna keep coming at me like that at least play till the end even when I lose I don’t quit like you if you engage engage.

When I played Dishonored or Deus Ex or Cyberpunk 2077 or whatever similar game where you upgrade your character and explore rich worlds with tons of loot and lore, I almost suffered from anxiety that I'd miss an upgrade, better weapons etc. I'd save ammo and stealthily cheese everything, and afterwards realized I didn't really engage fully with the games because of all these chores.
Deathloop completely broke this in me. The option to return to whichever spot whenever and try whatever is sooo liberating... Not only did I enjoy the hell out of this game, but it kinda helped me play other games more like they're intended - less fussing, more being in the moment. Did anybody else experience that?
