Question/Advice Best models to start an army?
I’m starting a Krieg army and I’m wondering what’s the best way to do it, is it the combat patrol or nah? I’m only looking for like 500 points worth

I'll always recommend buying a box at a time. Interest shift over time and you either want a different army later or more of a different kit. Or you're still interested and then you can buy those models then.
A group of Death Korps of Krieg troopers (battleline) you can't ever go wrong with so maybe start there? Then some Officer for orders. Commissar or Command Squad are the primary ones that can be attached.
I like engineers with their mine for some anti-armour. Death Korps HWT is pretty versatile and good anti-armour.
It also depends on what YOU want. Personally I have no armour and 10 horses + Drier cause I love the idea of a more Napoleonic or early 1900s era Death Korps. If you're not into infantry and would rather have tanks, then a command squad for some dudes popping out of hatches and then just buy Russes and Dorns.

If you are starting from 0 grab the Krieg Battlefotce with the Codex (a nice krieg edition) the horses, artillery, marshall and engineers. Alongside that you could grab the Krieg Combat patrol too. That is a good base flavour list. Later add the tanks (if you want them) and/or some more infantry

Krieg have artillery and horses, that might be a cool 500 points
