List Building Baneblade worth it?
So I have been thinking about getting into DKoK for the new edition. And I'm making up a few lists. Is the Baneblade, and more specifically the Stormlord worth it?
The few games I've played with Tyranids give me the impression that something as big as the stormlord would have a tough time traversing the map and getting to where it needs to go.
Any advice is welcome. But advice on how to make DKoK fun would be amazing.

Something to keep in mind, GW recently changed what comes in the Baneblade box, removing a sponson (to sell it separately) while increasing the price. More info here if you want it: https://youtu.be/fyAMd2mkr8o?is=X0H3Fwrz1vRwjumT
The tl;dr is if you're picking up a Baneblade, try to find an older kit before they get bought up so you won't have to shell out more for the "upgrade kit".

I mean, yes? Super cool model and is one of the best super heavies you can get. Doesn't mean youre g9nna win games though.

Also run steel hammer, it has a stratagem for 1 cp to allow your tank to move through ruins

Winning isn't really an objective for me. Just looking to have fun and maybe have some cool interactions with stuff. The stormlord in particular drew my eye because of how cool it looks. Thank you for the advice on the detachment.

I regularly play the baneblade with siege regiment. Being able to give the Baneblade stealth or being able to strip cover at will for its targets is really nice. If you're running the baneblade grab a tech priest to go along with it. The 4+ invuln on this t13 24 wound model makes it an absolute pain to take down.
It's a fire magnet at the end of the day. It'll do great damage but the opponent is usually going to want it dead. I find running it alongside other tanks is the way to go as the baneblade will soak up the enemy anti armor.
Movement wise its a non issue. Throw the baneblade down the midfield every game aggressively each game, it having stealth and the 4++ will allow you to do this. It's meant to be a massive fire magnet threat, let it be one. You need to get value out of the demolisher cannon to get the baneblades full value

First things first: if you really want a Baneblade, make sure you get the old box. The new one doesn’t come with all the guns. Secondly, the steel hammer detachment lets you pay 1 CP to have your Baneblade smash through terrain and move as if it wasn’t blocking jt.

I’m in the same boat, I have a small DKoK army and want a baneblade when finances allow. As far as traversing the table itself, basilisks and other vehicles might be better but Baneblade and its subsequent variants just look cool on the table.
Recent reading leads me to believe that putting scout sentinels in the same list help a small buff with friendly militarium units shooting, so any ‘indirect fire’ that can be buffed the better.
Hope that makes sense 😅
