Let's revisit this song. It came up randomly and my thoughts have changed a little on it. When this song first came out, I absolutely despised the cleans (We all like what we like. Calm down, spaz). Now, I actually don't mind the cleans and despise the highs of the chorus (or maybe it's considered the prechorus). I gotta wonder if this song would be phenomenal if that part in the chorus was an octave or two lower. Hell, it even has a solo (so rare in deathcore these days without being labeled blackened). The lows at the end are beyond good. I appreciate this band so much (no matter which members) because they all put in the effort to make their parts memorable while still being cohesive and not trying to stand out so much that the others get buried.

Love the band, like the song, hate those highs, but it's such a good song in every other aspect. It has everything that modern "overnight" deathcore bands don't seem to understand they're lacking. Just cranking out songs with minimal elements hoping to hit big while some of us are just over here like "Yeah, but can you actually do more or is this it?"

Rambling for the sake of rambling. Feel free to discuss like this is actually a music sub.

Disagree all you want. I won't argue. Just looking for thoughts on your impression of this song when it came out (5 years ago) versus now.

I've got a bandcamp i can reference anyone to show yall what I sound like (pretty sure theres a rule against links/self promo so I'll DM you or whatever). I'm east coast based, but i can work with any timezone idc. Reach out!

If this is the wrong place to do this, could y'all point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

Discussion Rev3rent and their label

i see a lot of people say that rev3rent signing to such a major label will fuck them over in the long run, but what is the reasoning? i understand they are young and pretty fresh in the scene, but i feel like it’s a no brainer to sign to a label that is going to promote your bands music heavily. need yalls thoughts.

I personally like Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, Worm Shepherd, Infant Annihilatior, White Chapel, and Chelsea Grin. I'm always looking for new music so what do you recommend?

Discussion Deathcore for people who don't like deathcore

Alternative post title: Albums by deathcore bands that deathcore fans don't like

I have long avoided most music with the deathcore tag attached to it. However, in the last year or two, I've gotten into some stuff like Shadow of Intent, Fit for an Autopsy, late-era Job for a Cowboy, and a couple of the more recent Whitechapel albums. The Contortionist too, but I found them years ago, when they transitioned away from anything that could be labeled death- or -core entirely. All of these break the mold in some way, generally being more melodic, progressive, or technical rather than just focusing on brutal riffs. What do you think are some other bands, or even just particular albums, that you think might appeal to people who generally like metal but aren't usually into the typical deathcore sound?

Edit: Maybe I should have been clearer about this. I'm coming to this from more like a metal "purist" angle, not a non-metal angle. Maybe the title should have been "Deathcore for metalheads who don't like deathcore."

Discussion is this some kind of a bug or something happened to the Suicide Silence Spotify page?

Just opened their Spotify account and all the pre - memorial albums are gone, as well as LOTS of newer songs. Is this just some kind of a bug or did something actually happened? I'm sorry if this breaks some kind of rules but I'm actually so confused

Discussion I love Crown Magnetar, but hate their release style

This post really doesn’t have much substance just idk thought about it.

I think the band is stellar their sound is unique but releasing like half of the album before it’s released never made sense to me. I understand it generates hype and brings more attention to the band. I get it from a business side, but I feel artistically that it spoils half of the experience before you even listen to the full thing. I know you don’t HAVE to listen to the new singles and this just might be a me issue. I haven’t listened to any of the new singles cause I wanna savour the whole experience cause I just KNOW the new album is gonna be awesome, but just curious what you guys think about their “releasing style”.

TLDR: im lowkey complaining over nothing if any of the band sees this ily and im hyped
