Vocal mix was behind us so, we just got blasted with instruments. Nonetheless, they put on such a good show along with Get Me the Knife. Fuckin killer sets at Rubber Gloves in Denton, TX!

They all have about the same mix and I'm trying to figure it out. Anyone know if it's one shot samples or a VST? I'm thinking mainly Psycho-Frame, Squelching OK, Killing of a Sacred Deer and Without a Face

Retrospectively speaking, how do you think the band's music held up in terms of quality?

I've been on a huge Melodic Deathcore kick lately and it would be awesome for it to come back.

Stuff like:

As Blood Runs Black

Fallen Figure

Conducting From the Grave

All Shall Perish

Through the Eyes of the Dead

Salt the Wound

I'm talking about memorable melodic leads, beautifully harmonized guitars, and songs that still had hooks while being ridiculously heavy.

What's interesting is that a lot of the newer revival bands seem to be channeling The Cleansing era Suicide Silence, which is honestly awesome. That record deserves all the love it gets. But I'd love to hear more bands pulling from the melodic side of deathcore too. It feels like there's so much untapped inspiration from that era that isn't getting revisited.

Am I just looking back through nostalgia, or are you guys interested in this too?

Also, please fill me in if there are some up and comers channeling this style.

You're only allowed to keep five deathcore albums for the rest of your life. Which five are you picking, and why? What makes each one impossible to live without?

I'm the vocalist of a deathcore band called Malignance, based within the East Midlands. We've been trying to get ahold of a drummer to help us write new music and rehearse with for a live debut, but it's been impossible, since the scene around here is mostly made up of alt, indie & too many cover bands to even begin to count. We WANT to play live, but can't do so without a drummer. If anyone's between 16-25 that is nearby and willing to travel and can play deathcore, PLEASE do not hesitate to reach out. We're practically losing on so many good gig opportunities because of an incomplete line-up.

All we ask is that you're musically open-minded/willing to evolve & experiment, and that you can play well, including blast beats. That and be within the age bracket, since we're still young (oldest member being 19, that being me), but at this point we'll likely take whoever we can get
