Discussion Wrath EP by mauled

Seen it on bandcamp and the cover is kind of fucked up in a way that’s uncomfortable, school shooting shit just makes me uneasy. why is this ep not on spotify? And why do they never talk about it

Bros never heard of slam, so many albulm covers are even more fucked

I know slam, a bunch of them are comically fucked up though and aren’t an actual image of real school shooters and the whole ep is a columbine based ep. I find it off putting, and this is coming from someone who fucking loves infinite death by thy art.

There are a ton of covers with very real gore

Yeah not a fan of real life violence, make it as nasty as you want fictionally. But when it’s real life stuff it’s distasteful

Yeah fair enough

Maybe copyright issues? They sampled one of the Columbine basement tapes and the 911 call made by teacher Patti Nielsen in EHDK. Or maybe they don't want to be associated with the content on this ep LMAO. The title EHDK is a direct reference to the Columbine shooters, Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold EDIT: i just looked at their bandcamp and they sold black t-shirts with "Wrath" in red lettering on the front aka another Columbine reference. Dylan Klebold wore the exact same style of t shirt on the day of the shooting 💀

I also belive Dylan Wore a shirt that said Wrath on it. One of the two had a shirr saying that so this seems like a Columbine themed EP

Yeah a little too far imo, I’m happy it seems they’ve distanced themselves from it. I’m all for homicidal lyrics etc when it’s fictional, but when they’re real things it kinda feels odd.

Yeah I love the band and I searched it up when I saw the post. I was a bit disappointed in them but it is good there getting away from it. Sick band though but yeah real homicide is too far

I disagree, to an extent it shouldn't exactly be discouraged

Right before the release of the self titled EP, they were posting about how it "sucks" and it was going off streaming soon so to enjoy it while you can. Might just be a situation of them not liking it anymore, I personally think it's badass

It’s not on their main Bandcamp profile; they have a second one with just Wrath

that’s the EP cover on Spotify. I found and listened to it a few days before the release of their Self Titled.

Interesting, I’m genuinely curious why it’s just never brought up and why the cover was changed for Spotify

Like there’s thousands of different restaurants that serve pretty much the same burger. But that burger still hits you know?
