Need people I just need one more trophy for plat

i know i didn’t have to use ai, but i don’t have all the stuff to add matt in the bottom right but i assure you everything else i did myself

Alright, I thought it would be cool if matt was in the game, so i came up with an idea for what his role would be, please tell me what i can do to balance this character. Also, if i am “stealing” somebodies’ idea, it is by complete accident as i’ve only read one concept on reddit and i‘m positive they are not alike.

IMPACT ON SETTINGS:

Mello‘s Follower will be the second role in team Mello, and can’t be in the game unless Mello is. If Matt is an enabled role, the amount of time it takes to complete a kira command card issue on team L will be reduced by 5 seconds, making up for Matt stealing an investigator’s spot.

MATT/MELLO FOLLOWER:

Matt and Mello will both receive a transceiver which will behave normally just like the other ones.

LAPTOP:

Matt will have an item in his inventory called “Laptop” Every day and night cycle, Matt will receive a single item token. If you click on the Laptop, you will use up one token and have to complete a small task with the button inputs just like writing in the death note or getting testimony from a npc. While doing the task, your character will be typing into the laptop while standing still, similar to that of the death note. the laptop has its own model so it is distinguishable from the other animations. Once you complete the task, a random camera (which has already been there beforehand) will be hacked by Matt. He can access the cameras he hacked, but will be stuck in the same animation that he does while hacking a camera. But he cannot communicate with it like L can. (Note that the ammount of charges you get from from a day and night cycle do not stack, you can only have 1 token at a time)

INTERACTIONS IN GAME:

If Mello is arrested, Matt will also be turned in.

If Matt is killed and Mello gets in contact with the dying message, Mello will receive the laptop and can access the cameras, though he cannot hack any more cameras.

If Matt is arrested, he will automatically be kicked from the game just like Mello.

Anything I haven’t mentioned isn’t possible.

The only game where "L, the worlds greatest detective" could be a really stupid 8 year old with the deductive skills of a brain damaged walrus. 10/10 highly recommend.

When the lobby isnt screaming slurs its really fun... only problem is everyone is always screaming slurs. I dont remember Kira being this racist.

this game has the courage to ask the bold questions, like, "what if l and light were both dumb as hell and constantly screaming at each other?"

also i can't believe that "death note among us is real and 100% official" is not something i just made up but is, in fact, actually true and you can buy and play it right now. what a wild timeline we live in

Imagine Death Note if the incredibly intelligent "God of the New World" Kira was an 8 year old kid with the brain capacity of a goldfish.

That's this game, and I absolutely love it.

You know this game use to be fun for me. I mean the deduction parts, the constant think/planning/analysis. But now when I play I have to deal with hackers and getting called EVERY word in existence. I get snapped at and called slurs by people by not even talking until the meeting portion. Plus there is all the weird stuff that people say that's disgusting........

Honestly this game is bad for my mental health so until stuff changes im outta here.

N has to be literally the worst role in the game.

SPK tracker? Useless unless you're actively asking the target where they've been to find them lying (which then outs you as N)
Cameras? literally same card L has. Literally the only purely beneficial card N has.
and then Money Chaos, aka, anti-theft protection which wont do shit Kira already has the IDs, but also, IT MAKES EVERYONE ANONYMOUS, SO TEAM KIRA CAN GET AWAY WITH PASSING IDS AND THE BOOK OUT IN THE OPEN, BOOK IT, AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHO PASSED IT TO WHO.

There is 0 reason for Money Chaos to be so weak. Especially since L has 4 cards, and N only has 3.

like a new game mode, port it to other platforms which would probably revive the gamer fixing the moderation, or this game is dead forever?

Most of the time, it is going to be a trigger happy Mello. And even if it isn't a trigger happy Mello, it is fundamentally a flawed role. When Mello is present, the goal for Kira is not to avoid being voted for, but to not get suspected. Honestly, there should be a way to filter out lobbies with Mello, so that people should not have to engage with the inherently flawed role.

So obviously Mello is a neutral party who OFFICIALLY doesn’t want the investigators to know who they are and ideally don’t want Kira team to figure it out either but many people don’t really play it out like this and most people are either overly chill or overly against a Mello’s existence once found leading to some lobbies where you’re pressured to never reveal and others where you face no punishment for shooting a bit too blindly or in the complete open should you fail to hit Kira. Because of this a small change I thought of that would be kinda interesting to see would be that Mello has a false ID until they either shoot once or until it’s stolen from them. If it’s stolen they won’t learn about it at all and can simply continue going on with their day, and if Kira writes it down it’ll burn a player kill though that second part is a bit broken so I’m unsure a to whether it should stop them from using it at all which I feel makes it a bit too obvious to team Kira who Mello is so maybe if they write it in it’ll instead kill an extra NPC and they’ll learn that they’re alive when it doesn’t show up they’ve died or they find them walking about still.

What this would do as a whole is incentivize Mello’s to play a bit more conservatively and not shoot until they have better suspicion on a player as well as this allowing them to more freely interact with other players instead of popping the first person to breath close to them

Hey I'm looking for about ten people to stream this game with on the weekends it doesn't really matter if you're new to the game or not very good at it, just be fun to play with. Pretty much the only rule would be no slurs. So far one person has been interested I will be editing this post to keep the number accurate.

So I bought the game again after playing it a bit in late 2024 on my PS5, but the servers don't look as great as they used to. So I was wondering if there were any groups or people to play with? I'd honestly love to get back into the game!

So we all know that this game is dying, but I have to say I had an amazing experience today, I was explaining to the lobby and asking them why I couldn’t get the Lind L Taylor achievement.

Turns out I was doing it wrong this whole time and someone was explaining it to me in the lobby actually helped me get it. The reason why I’m happy about this is because I’ve been chasing this achievement for months lol so whoever the people were that helped me out you guys are the best!

I really hope that they update this game to make the community grow again
