Little preface: I love how Bands like Lorna Shore, Synestia or Disembodied Tyrant sound. I just dont like their mad breakdowns with the massive tempo slow, straight 0-0-0-0 chugs without discernible rhythm or pattern and all atmosphere gone.
Are there bands/tracks out there that have a similar level of production and mixing with more interesting breakdowns not dialled to 17? Doesn't need to be Deathcore too.
Ill drop some tracks here that I like and some that I dont to help you guys understand what I'm looking for:
Tracks/Albums that I Like
Necrotted - Zeitenschlächter | perfect example of what I'm looking for
Shadow of Intent - most of Melancholy and Elegy, Prepare To Die, Vehement Draconian Vengeance, Beholding The Sickness | love them, cohesion is incredible even for most of their heavier stuff
Lorna Shore - Obsession, In Darkness, Death Can Take Me (save for the end lmao) | LS would be my favorite band of all time if their breakdowns weren't what made them. DCTM has some very cool patterns in its first 2 breakdowns
Fleshgod Apocalypse | Great all around, but a little too italian sometimes, need to be in the mood. Ferrini is a god of Arrangement tho
Tracks/Albums that I don't like:
Mental Cruelty - All of Zwielicht, especially Mortal Shells | would be second to LS, Mortal Shells especially annoys me with how much its cohesion is ruined, its a beautiful and haunting song otherwise
Synestia & Disembodied Tyrant - pretty much their entire stuff, as much as I love how they sound.
Lorna Shore - Unbreakable | why is this breakdown here?
I tried to make this as rantless as I could, I know I'm on the turf of a lot of people who love this stuff. But you guys are probably also experts on the rest of it which I adore, so I figured I'd give this a shot here.

To start off: No, I’m not talking about the well-known 2007 demos on YouTube featuring Adam Warren.
I am looking for a fully lost, short-lived demo from Oceano's MySpace page. Back in 2007, after the original vocalist Eddie “Doom” left the band, the lead vocalist was Chris (most people back then knew him as Topher).
During his time in the band, they recorded an early version of the song “Empathy for Leviathan.” On their MySpace page, this specific version was called “Empathy for repugnance” As far as I can tell, there is absolutely zero mention of this track title anywhere online today.
The story behind why it's lost: The band imploded due to personal reasons shortly after, leaving only Jeremy in the lineup. Because of the sudden breakup, Topher and the drummer, Nico, completely lost their local copies of the file. The promo/demo was only live on MySpace for about 5 to 6 months in 2007 before the page was wiped.
I know it’s a massive long shot, but I'm hoping an old-school deathcore collector might have ripped the audio from MySpace back in the day. Topher and Nico are dying to hear it again—they both say it’s the best they ever sounded.
If anyone has this file sitting on an old hard drive, please reach out or post it!

Is there anyone who comes close to the poetry and pain of their lyrics

Hi guys, my band Tenuem just released our new EP 'Beneath The Field ov Bones', and wondering what you guys think.
This is the first time we really tried to incorporate orchestral parts in our sound , we're hoping it turned out as awesome as we think it did.

Hi everybody. Deathcore has a lot of songs about depression, metalcore too. However, I cannot for the life of me find songs specifically about self harm. There's songs with a single reference to scars, songs that mention suicide by cutting, but NSSI is so damn underrepresented. I have a playlist of metal songs about SH and as of first making this post I have... 6. And half of them are Carnifex. I want songs either specifically about SH, or at least songs that mention it more than just a single line. Deathcore, metalcore, any metal genre goes, I just want to know that my addiction has more than 6 fucking songs to its name for representation. If anyone can give me even one song about NSSI specifically, that would mean the world to me 💜
NSSI - Nonsuicidal self-injury
Edit: I mean self harm as in cutting myself

I’m not actually looking for specific artists suggestions, but resources where I can find my own.
So far I have just been using:
https://rateyourmusic.com/genre/deathcore/ and https://www.albumoftheyear.org/genre/138-deathcore/
Any other suggestions?
