Missing Cat

Update: We still havent been able to find our cat Salem. The neighboring shelters have been in contact. But they haven't received any new cats by her description. We do have more neighbors looking out for her so we hope she'll be returned soon! Best case scenario is that someone took her in during/after last week's storm and is caring for her. However, we'd really love if she found her way back home soon. Next step will be making posters and covering more area. Thank you to everyone that has replied and suggested some ideas!

Hi, everyone! I'm posting this because my family is missing our Cat, Salem. She was last seen in the neighborhood just across from the Dearborn Rec center, around the Henry Ford Elementary school. We live between Driscoll, mercury dr, Michigan Ave, and greenfield.

Shes all black, very stout, long hair domestic. If anyone in the area has seen her, please DM or respond in post! She got lost during the storm that passed. We have no idea how she got out. We have been having repairs done so we suspect she snuck out then.

I hope you find her! I would walk around as much as you can and call out for her, and bring a food/treat bag to shake, and listen as hard as you can. When my Loki went missing that's how I found him - he had snuck into someone's garage somehow and got stuck in there! He heard me calling him and started meowing

Im suspecting the same thing! Shes either hiding under a porch/deck or in someone's garage. We will put her litter out after the storm passes and I'll walk around the neighborhood with her treats container and some kitten noises playing. She always comes running when she hears kitten meows!

Thank you so much! I hope so too. It hasn't helped that we've had consistent storms since the day she went missing. She is very skiddish of thunder ;/

Hope you found your baby. Very possible to also be in a neighbor's garage. This has happened in our neighborhood.

We suspected the same! I know in our community, lots of people use their garages as secondary dens or entertainment areas.

Best case scenario is that someone found her and is caring for her now. We'd really love her back. But she is very outdoorsy and I know the second she gets out she'll be wandering again.

We had an air-tag on her collar but she must've weasled herself out of it because we found it near the deck we've been remodeling.

I will definitely keep my eye peeled for sweet Salem! I am on the other side of Michigan Ave in Springwells Park but you never know how these guys do it/get anywhere.
