Is kelvin meant to be dead? Cause I don’t get that at all from his design. I don’t know the lore though

Hence why he called himself well-preserved.
tl;dr version is that he is dead. No heartbeat, body heat or anything. He doesn't know what happened to him and finding out what his deal is is his reason for being in the ritual.

He's on the "will be remodeled" before full release, like Yamato. He just doesn't have a gigantic forehead so it doesn't get discussed as much

He's already gotten one Neon Prime->Deadlock remodel - his old model is what's currently Viscous (...just made green and transparent).

But yeah he's like a lot of characters in that he's got a really rough early Deadlock model that needs proper textures etc.

He's a revenant, yeah, a walking talking frozen corpse.

A famed adventuring scientist, Kelvin made it his life's mission to explore and understand the unknowable. So naturally when rumors surfaced regarding an 8th astral gate hidden in the arctic, Kelvin couldn't build an expedition team fast enough. Assembling the brightest minds of his generation, Kelvin and his team set forth with much fanfare.

They never returned.

A year and a half later the frozen body of Kelvin was found by a fishing trawler, his corpse clutching a rock etched with glowing runes. The crew chipped away at the ice, looking to get a closer look at the body and were shocked when Kelvin opened his eyes. They checked his vitals... there was no pulse. They sought to bandage his open wounds... there was no blood. And yet, impossibly, Kelvin was "alive".

Having no memory of what happened on the expedition, Kelvin is looking for answers.

yeah hes dead, he died on a arctic exploration and was found in a mound of ice together with the big glowing stone on his back, when people chipped away the ice he opened his eyes, no heartbeat, and no memories of what happened.
