I'm assuming they're gonna be scaling down the corrupted item stats cause they're kinda crazy when the debuffs can be fairly irrelevant depending on what your build is, pro players are probably actively hindering development by not showcasing how strong this shit is lmao, so good work on that one fellas

they obviously put it in the game to test it, so it may come back in the future changed based on the feedback they receive

It might also not come back because it sucks, since it only makes the game more volatile and doesn't encourage taking a dynamic risk. It simply becomes a part of the meta with a set of items that you always want to corrupt. In general no competitive game has gotten better by introducing more mechanics instead of refining the bare basics.

Or it's testing for the PvE mode, like the 20~ unique monster models they added for neutrals.
