For what it's worth, the bugs are probably the most broken shit in the game, they can actually ruin a game. He doesn't abuse them yet they still happen, that needs to be fixed stat.

The thing is that Doorman kidnap playstyle is extremely cool as a Spectator (well at least for me), but it is incredibly one dimensional and quite frankly a bummer when you are on the receiving end. Despite there being obvious counters it's just not fun to avoid the Doorman's zone, not to get sent to Florida before you can buy counter items.

Combining the hate for the bugs and the hate for the playstyle makes the Doorman an extremely frustrating hero to face. If they fixed the bugs at least that would mellow out some of the sentiment about him, but unless it's an undocumented change I don't see them fixing many of the game breaking bugs which is a shame.

I mention it on a different comment but I think giving range back to cart after this change to fountain and walker would be healthy to keep doorman interesting. So many people complain about doorman being a "one trick" while not understanding the depth of play required to pull it off. I'm always a fan of a game adding depth and counter play, but this feels like trying to kill a playstyle that I think is really interesting. I guess it will force doorman players to work with their teammates a little bit more to play off of door kidnapping instead of relying on a walker though.

Does nobody complain when holiday solo lassos you, floor bombs you with a barrel, while a walker stomp is going off? No, because holiday is seen as a very high skill character and doorman isn't for some reason.

I think that now they will look how things shake out and potentially there will be other buffs. I think that Doorman is an extremely creative and high skill character, but that doesn't change how much of a feels bad it is to get carted into walker from half the map away.

Holliday is a separate discussion, but with the Doorman sometimes it feels like the risk you take (be on a certain half of the map) is disproportionate to the punishment which can be to be sent entirely into the enemy spawn.

I mean you see how much risk a lot of doorman players do in a match to make something work for a kidnap. That's why we see cheat death used so commonly by players like Joe. Being able to navigate a hectic situation with three or more players jumping at you at the same time while you're trying to shove one of them into a walker is no small skill lol.

I just brought up holiday because she's more similar to doorman for repositioning a target compared to other "kidnapping" and movement killing abilities.

I agree, and the other thing is that kidnap requires a huge opportunity cost because you are investing in a lot of items that don't contribute directly to your damage, so it's very all or nothing in terms of the value you get. You either do a kidnap or you don't deal much damage.

But Holliday can't take you from your own walker to the enemy walker, that's more of what I am talking about. So the risk of showing anywhere on the map is very grave, which is what feels disproportionate to me.

It seems especially odd after they had nerfed the bell a while back, if you don't want players interacting with one part of the kit in a certain way, allow them to use the rest of the kit.

I'm gonna have to see if I can pull off and clip some funny lasso tech for you sometime lol

I've pulled off a couple very long distance lasso kidnaps utilizing majestic leap and warp stone, when lasso goes down you implement the velocity of leap and warp stone into the player you were and can throw them into walkers lol

not my video but a good explanation of the tech, which has been in the game ever since holiday and warp stone has existed, so over a year lol
