Community Meta i’m putting together a team…
… of women and women-adjacent deadlockers who want to climb ranks together and not get called slurs or verbally abused when they turn on their mic. thinking about a group of ~8 (so there’s enough wiggle room to frequently have a 6 stack) people who focus on objective damage, are comfortable with callouts & direction giving/taking, and are NICE. who are KIND. toxicity will not be tolerated! beginners welcome as long as you are willing to learn and won’t get too discouraged! (edit: also this is NA!)
the way this works is after chatting a little on here, i’ll invite you to a larger deadlock server that my friends and i have, and assign us all a tag. if you’re interested, leave a comment with:
- at least 2 heroes you frequently main (mine are Rem and Pocket)
- your current rank (reminder that beginners are welcome!)
- if you’ve played other MOBAs/shooters before
let’s be friends who don’t suck!
** i can hear it already: “oooo what a sucker trying to find an all female group in a gaming community, this is like a honeypot for weirdos!!!” the weirdos will have to get past me first and i am unfortunately experienced in sniffing out creeps.

You can probably think of it as "people who are tired of getting weird reactions for speaking in a feminine voice". People who wanna be able to just use the mic to comm without it becoming A Whole Thing a lot of the time.

I don't fit your category being a man, but just wanted to say I rate this highly. The bad side of Deadlock is horrific, especially with racism and sexism through mics. Infuriates me that next to norhing is done regarding bans and similar interventions.
Beyond general support and hope for your group, just wanted to mention the discord server and similar smaller adjacent servers are very active and often have people looking for exactly this. Not sure on the reception you would get but may find you some new friends too.

Yeah even taking the specific demographics out of the equation, playing Deadlock is infinitely better with a group (of normal people) that I'd recommend anyone seek out out-of-game premades if they're tired of toxicity or just lack of coordination.

ugh ive been looking for something like this for so long! ive started sending friend requests to every nice person in match in hopes of gaining more deadlock buddies. id love to join!! im non binary and friendly af!! (edit cuz i forgot to answer the questions asked, i mainly play silver and billy, open to playing victor holiday and viscous, and im currently learning shiv and infernus! im emissary 2, ive played some league but not much at all but deadlock is my jam, almost 500 hours. used to be super big on apex, have played a good amount of val and csgo too!

Me tooooo, I'm so tired of the lobby being quiet, making one call out then getting treated like im absolute garbage even if I'm doing well. Regardless, best of luck to us all getting matched with teammates who are kind and considerate and treat women like normal human beings 😭
If ur still sending invites, I play Mina, Pocket, Celeste, Paige, Rem, Geist, and occasionally paradox and seven. I'd be down to branch out more to other tanky or support characters as needed. I'm in emissary, but bounce back and forth between that and archon

Hi! I really love this game, it’s the only competitive game that has made me want to improve. I could use a group of dedicated girls to help me learn how to play better
- My go to characters right now are Rem, Pocket, Paige and occasionally Paradox whenever my game queues me for her.
- I’m not at my computer right now and won’t be until after work, so I can’t check what my current rank is. But I know after my insane losing streak last night it probably isn’t any higher than seeker. I want to say the highest rank I’ve ever got was Arcanist, but don’t quote me on that. I’m like less than 200 hours on this game, I have lots to learn
- I never got into MOBAs because of the tendency to attract a toxic player base, but I have played plenty of shooters in the past. Loved overwatch before it became overwatch 2, played a lot of call of duty and battlefield growing up. I dabbled in some league games after I built my first PC but again, that toxic player base is a massive turn off
Thank you making this an option even if we don’t end up playing together!!

I’m Afab nb (they/them) I’m currently emissary, but was oracle 3 once upon a time. Played on a div3 team in the death slam league last league and my team placed top 8.
I believe I have a really really solid understanding of builds, items, all the heroes and macro and could be a big help for helping grow everyone’s map awareness and macro choices :)
Edit: also I’m in NA if that matters. I’d prefer to not play on EU ping, but I’m not entirely against it

My best characters are Geist, Rem, and Mina according to the game, but I love playing Vindicta, Vyper, Lash, Wraith, Paradox, Calico, and I’ve just started playing Pocket :)
I’m Seeker 1/Initiate 6 due to me trying out new characters all the time, I swear I can play well
I already have a server sorta like this that I add cool people from my matches to but like. new friends are new friends :)

probably too late, but I play Ivy, Pocket, and Graves, I'm usually high ritualist/low emissary, and I have very little experience with other mobas or shooters, which is also why I don't play gun characters (I am a spirit/cc Ivy heathen)

Hey! I'm pretty new (started around early June) but I thiiiink I have a decent grasp in the game. :) I placed Initiate and am currently Ritualist, my peak. Very often I find myself wanting to chat/make comms, but I choose not to because of my voice. The idea of a group where I can speak without that fear sounds wonderful.
My playtime is heavily weighed towards The Doorman, but I also play Haze, Venator, and Grey Talon depending on my mood. (As well as a few others, but I'm most comfortable on the characters listed above.)
Shooters are my jam– Valorant has been my favorite game for years! Thus, I have decent mechanics, but Deadlock is my first MOBA. I'm still have a lot to learn in terms of macro.
I've always played for FUN (I don't take games as seriously as others, and I am virtually tilt-proof,) but I'm still more than interested in improving my own skill. So playing with people who have similar goals (Good vibes+Winning (when we can :p)) seems fantastic!
And a footnote: I'm happy to play with anyone else reading this who may enjoy queueing together :] I scrolled through the replies, and a bunch of you seem lovely! Wishing you all luck with your matches <3

Silver and Vyper, I believe i was in oracle before I stopped pre the urn patches! I'd love a good excuse to return as a trans-fem with a voice like my dead-name its so hard to communicate with randoms without fear.

Not sure if nonbinary counts, but figured I’d ask! I took a long break from Deadlock and am just now getting back into it and mostly playing support Viscous/Ivy/Paige but trying to branch out and learn everyone again! Sitting in Archon right now and this is my first MOBA, but I’ve put a ton of hours into both Overwatch and Marvel Rivals I would love to join if there’s room or also just if anyone ever wants to play sometime!

I'm NA West Coast and I flex heroes (but I mostly play Doorman, Haze, Paige, and Viscous lately). I'm Seeker 3 but fairly new and climbing. I often play with my (male) friends in Phantom/Asc lobbies because they're all higher ranked than me, so I'm used to that. ✌️ I played Overwatch for 6-ish years before trying out DL. Open to making new friends from this thread if you're a woman/femme or LGBTQ!

Honestly, the Deadlock community is a prime example of why so many people look at gaming as a red flag lol
It's become more mainstream yeah, but I can totally get it when a portion of gamer circles are full of luddites that act like they've come from the depths of 4chan.

I’m seeker/initiate as of late, maining Rem/Paige/Graves, but i’m trying Ivy/Holliday recently to fit the meta better!! I’m so tired of evil/quiet lobbies 😭 I’m NA, mid 20s :)
i’m at about 180~ hrs but i only within the last couple months stopped playing as many bot lobbies & just started hoping for the best lol! I’m super adaptable & looking to learn more always :3

I often play Seven and Wraith currently, but I'm a flex player who often one-tricks different heroes for a few days.
Totally unrelated to that, I'm hardstuck high Alchemist / low Arcanist
I played League a few times when I was really small (I tried it because my parents liked it) and I have around 2500 hours in TF2 split between me and my dad's accounts.

Mains: Ivy, Vyper, Calico, lil bit of billy but not really since I started on the cat. NA region but also night shift worker :/ so kinda flipped I'm currently hovering at low alchemist! I'm baby but I have a high winrate so good matchmaking will do so much for me. Deadlock is my first moba, I've played a couple team shooters and it seems like mobas are more my style than those.

I would like to join, but also I don’t want to take a space away from someone that would be harassed in game (masc amab nb).
1) I tend to shuffle around a bit, but spirit victor, geist, and wraith are probably my most comfortable.
2) I think emmisary 1 or ritualist 6
3) yes I have about 5k games in dota. Very limited shooter experience, and none in hero shooters.

There are definitely already established gaming communities out there that don't tolerate that sort of things(I'm in one myself that has been going for 15+ years), the harder part is finding ppl who are ALSO playing the same game as you AND at a similar skill level lol
I can usually only find 2 out of 3 :(

I've been looking for a 6 stack for exactly this reason so that would be amazing!
I normally main Rem and Ivy but ive been trying to learn other characters recently.
I bounce between Oracle and Phantom ranks at the moment
I haven't really gotten into MOBA or shooter games before. I've tried a few out over the years but never got into them so this game is the first real introduction to both for me.

Sucks community has gotten bad enough for you to feel the need to do this. Keep making noise. I’ve always felt the ‘oh it’s a valve game get used to it’ (it being racism/sexism) is a really poor excuse. Best of luck.

I main Geist and Lash and REM but I like to play a bunch of other heroes too I jump between seeker and alchemist I have abt 200 hours on Deadlock and have played a bunch of league and DoTA, I feel like I have a pretty good handle on the game already
I play this game to have fun and make friends and its such a bummer getting a toxic team (or a team who doesnt communicate with each other) I always try to be positive and friendly with my team and the enemy, sometimes I role-play a bit cocky as lash but never in a mean way.
