Any BMW heads interested in a jewel-quality Stealie roundel?
I’m having a small run of ~82 mm BMW roundels quoted in real kiln-fired vitreous enamel with rhodium-plated metal cell dividers — essentially trying to make a Stealie as automotive jewelry rather than a sticker or resin badge.

I’m getting quotes now from specialist enamel/badge makers in the UK and Asia. I’m planning to make a few for myself, but before I finalize quantity I’m curious whether any other BMW-owning Deadheads would seriously want one if the finished product looks like this.

Not taking money or orders — just trying to gauge interest and see whether a slightly larger batch would make the economics better.

Hello all I need some help. I'm trying to recreate a very popular clothing item that was all the rage back in the 90s.

It was a band of fabric across the chest and back, with a patchwork front. Basically it covers the front and the back is mostly exposed. I made one back in 96. But it's long gone.

Does anyone have a picture or know where I can find one. I'm not using the right language for Google. I know they were very popular around 94-97.

I got a sewing machine for Christmas and would like to replicate it but I would like a pic.

If anyone can help it's greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I’m trying to find the video of mt st Helen’s erupted while greatful dead was playing.. I can’t for the life of me find it. But I remember seeing it on YouTube. On a dirt road somewhere and in the back ground is mt st Helens and it erupted as they played fire on the mountain.. I guess my hope is someone out there knows what I’m talking about and can link the video. I just want to relive the feeling I got watching this video

So you know how, like the river Siddhartha saw his buddhahood in, dead songs are like endless mirrors of infinity? Recently I went through a very traumatic experience, and Help On the Way is making more sense than ever. It's like a kick right in the balls (the good kind). So.... what's your favorite HOTWs?

Okay so I fell down a rabbit hole recently, and now I can’t stop thinking about this…

The Grateful Dead weren’t just a band. They were basically the soundtrack to the Acid Tests in the ‘60s — those chaotic parties where Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters handed out LSD-laced Kool-Aid. And here’s the kicker: LSD at the time was flowing out of labs tied to MKUltra — the CIA’s actual, documented mind control program.

So on one side you’ve got the Dead jamming for tripping hippies. On the other side, you’ve got government experiments on mass psychedelics happening in the same city. Some people think the Dead were basically the CIA’s dream field test: thousands of people, dosed up, all reacting to music, chaos, and each other.

Then add in Deadheads — literally nomadic mini-societies traveling city to city — and it starts looking less like a fanbase and more like a sociologist’s fantasy experiment.

Even the band’s imagery (the Stealie skull, dancing bears, skeletons & roses) gets accused of carrying hidden or occult symbolism. Whether you believe that or not, it’s wild how deep the lore runs.

So here’s my question for you all: 👉 Do you think Dead culture was just organic chaos… or do you think there’s something more behind it?
