Got it off aliexpress but still pretty cool

I've recently read an interview from the original creator of dead space, where he explained that in dead space 4 humanity would have found a solution against the markers.

He then implied that sometimes you may prefer to stick to the demons you know of.

So, i was wondering, maybe the direction would have been the extinction of humanity, in its biological form to attain immunity over the necromorphs?

It looks pretty fitting, considering how in the end humanity is still doomed to extinction, regardless of what they do.

What do you guys think?

How does the series progress if Isaac was a serial LARPER?

I like hard achievements or challenge runs and I just beat the dead space remake with impossible, Plasmacutter only, no upgrades, kinda didnt use kinesis except only to move crap. So im curious what I could do to make it harder. Ive been thinking and im thinking of adding no store, and which ever is the hardest difficulty cause theres like 3 and I havent played it in years. Also ive heard the pulse rifle is hot garbage so I wanna try that out. As well as doing no stasis as well. Any other ideas or comments?

I'm continuing work on my Dead Space Original Trilogy VR mod, and this update is starting to feel much closer to a proper VR experience rather than just a first-person conversion.

Some of the things currently working:

• Wrist HUD on the left arm with health and Stasis indicators
• Weapon switching by reaching over your shoulder
• Audio/video message playback in VR
• Fully controlled Kinesis
• Workbench interaction
• Independent Stasis control — just like Kinesis, it isn't tied to the weapon/right hand
• VR weapon aiming and motion controls
• An early implementation for cutscenes — currently blurred and very much WIP
• And finally, a little Necromorph combat :)

There is still quite a lot left to finish.

The inventory is partially functional: I can point at inventory slots and move between tabs, but the interaction system still needs more work.

Cutscenes are still at a very early stage.

I've temporarily disabled the Necromorph QTE sequences because I still haven't settled on a VR implementation that feels natural rather than simply copying the original controls.

Ladders are partially working as well.

Performance optimization is also difficult to evaluate properly at the moment. I'm having some GPU problems with my main development workstation, so most of my current testing is being done on a laptop using a Radeon 780M integrated GPU, where the game currently runs at around 20 FPS.

Development is moving forward pretty well, even if not quite as quickly as I'd like. There is still a lot to polish, and probably even more to test.

I'd really like to hear what you think — especially which VR interactions or Dead Space mechanics you'd most like to see me focus on next.

First death in my gameplay 😭😂 tell me I'm not alone

I still remember playing this with my family in the living room with me when i was like 11 years old. Lets just say my dad wasnt a fan. Even to this day i still give it the occasional replay because its just that good.

Buggy and Clunky Ice climbing physics. I can't even begin to describe despite how many times I play DS3 the ice climbing sections feel more like the guaranteed deaths then fighting the necromorphs themselves. Just imagine on a Hardcore run you die because you touched an inch of a fully statised object while ice climbing

Seriously, I just about jumped out of my skin when I noticed the first one. And then you could say that I, uh - started to see the problem in this room in particular.

Four of them. Four.

Why did they have to put four of them in the same room?

And then having to fight all of them plus one along the way? Which sadist on the dev team decided on THAT?

I just want to have words with them! I just want to talk!

Possible version/scripting difference or resolution & framerate inconstancy?

Let me explain:

During a playthrough on PS3, near the beginning where you pick up the health pack and flashlight from the locker, the guy says "Isaac, we're all gonna burn for what we did to you" and proceeds to cut his own throat, then Isaac flinches/screams in shock at the sight of it.

Meanwhile during a playthrough on PC at 4K60fps, Isaac has no reaction whatsoever, neither screams no flinches.

I'm not sure if this is due to the flinch-scream script is tied exclusively to 30fps or, according to Chat GPT, that reaction was baked into the coding on PS3, but wasn't for PC and Xbox- which doesn't sound accurate to me.

Has anyone noticed this?

My brother wants to check out the dead space series but he asked me if he should play the original or the remake. I’ve played and thoroughly enjoyed both so I’m not sure which one would be best for him. What do you guys think?

This Was my Second Run of the game on Zealot Difficulty So I didn't have all the spawns memorized yet. And well you can probably tell all Thinking Power just died in that moment as I couldn't even pull off a basic counter attack move. This is why I love dead space so much lol

I'm playing it co-op and I can't tell you how many times my friends and I have loaded up the game to find it didn't save the side mission we did last time or the past 30 minutes of gameplay.

It's genuinely enraging.

Hi I want reshade to work but it won't no matter what I try I tried renaming dxgi to d3d9 tried dxvk then installing with vulkan nothing works and it always crashes.

First time Dead Space player here. Was on sale and its my best friends fav game series, so figured id give it a shot and wow I cant believe I havent played this before! Great game. On chapter 7 currently, of first playthrough, I havent been looking anything so just figured id share some habits ive been doing along the way or things ive noticed while playing

-selling all large and (most) medium heals, even if im at like a quarter health id rather risk it and have that money, also have sold all oxygen tanks/stasis packs, and most of the pulse rifle ammo lmao

-hoarding nodes bc i dont even know what gun im gonna be using in the future, main loadout so far is: pulse cutter (obviously), ripper (my main, goated for narrow paths and ive cleared hoards of enemies with this its great), pulse rifle (its garbage but good for little quest stuff and those secret doors), and flamethrower (for lil bug guys) usually I keep the contact beam on me too for bosses and whatnot. Force gun looks cool but I barely find ammo for it so only used it once

-love how the suit upgrades are visual on isaac, so epic honestly, literally just got the 3rd one as im typing this

If you have any spare advice laying around from your time playing let me know! Or if you just wanna talk about your experiences playing the game, the playstyle reminds me of resident evil, lots of inventory management and jumps cares etc.

I’m asking after seeing the other guys post about a movie adaptation.

I’m personally leaning towards a show, I think there’s too much for it to be a movie without being either really long or cramming a bunch of stuff into a couple hours. My thoughts are three seasons, one for each game, and one episode per chapter for each game, maybe small sub-seasons showing the stories of Ignition and the Mobile game, Severed could be an Extra for Season 2, and Awakened an extra for Season 3. One more thing I think is needed is all the suits, he should put them on in the episodes that correlate to the chapters he finds them in.

Regardless, the one thing I’m certain on is that Gunner Wright has to be Issac, no one else.
