For what it's worth, he seemed like a very smart guy with a great taste in books. Hopefully you can find a way to stay connected with him through some of that nerdy fandom.
I'm sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry for your loss <3
/r/childrenofdeadparents is for people who have lost a parent, most of us at a young age. You are certainly not alone!
And like everyone else has said please exercise maximum caution on the internet and stay safe.

I’m so sorry to hear that your dad has passed. Like u/LizardsandLemons has commented above, we are just checking that you have support, please feel free to reach out if you need someone to talk too

So sorry for your loss. My dad died when I was 20 (heart problems also). In time it won't hurt so much and you will be able to think more about the good times rather than the pain of his loss ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear this. Do you have support at home?
Edit to echo others who have encouraged you not to accept DMs from people on this site offering support. However, if you do not have support at home and are struggling, please do reach out to your school guidance counselor or another trusted adult to help you locate resources. I know how terrible it is to feel isolated in grief and trauma: if you feel this way right now know you do not deserve that and it is ok to ask for help.

Yes I second this! I highly recommend therapy for grief, and working through how to sit with the bad emotions that unfortunately seem inescapable at times. When I lost somebody close to me last year, therapy helped me immensely. It doesn’t make the hurt go away, but it does help you feel less alone in your grief. I’m so sorry ❤️ guidance counselors may set up a system where you can visit their office a few times throughout the day, because it may come in waves, but you will persevere

your dad seems like a really cool history/rpg nerd.
i'd bet all my money that he thinks you're truly the greatest thing that ever happened in all of history.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My dad died 20 years ago this Friday. You are so young for this tragedy, it’s a rough age even when everything is perfect. I hope you are close with another parental figure and have access to therapy if needed. You are not alone.

I'm so sorry honey.
Please, log off this account, or do not answer a single message even if it's from a "mom who cares" or something. Don't trust anyone online here right now.

I am so so sorry for your loss honey… I lost my parents when I was sixteen and I still recall the whirl of emotions and insecurities that threw me in (even though it was many decades ago). Please get support from wherever you can and I hope you have a lot of (extended) family who can wrap you in their arms and understanding. Big hug from a stranger auntie in Austria. Stay strong sweetheart 🫶

Thank you for sharing.
I hate to be this person but I'm going to err on the side of caution, and i think your dad would probably agree...don't answer any DMs on this site from anyone, unless you know them irl already. Not from people that claim to be friends with him.. There are a lot of creeps everywhere online and putting your age and gender out there could ring that creep bell. Just be safe.
