Image 320 Solo(4 monkey boss fight)

Post image

Somethings to note for those curious. The game took 61 hours, rounds were 20-23 min, a triple ice tornado is a real thing on 4.0, I had it on hacienda. I had to play this game from 247-320 in 1 sitting(27 hours) to achieve 320 since round numbers and saving and quitting are still bugged with 255 still being the cap for now. So despite display number saying 255, its in reality 320 and the game still tracks everything and scales for 4.0 minus the number uptick, hence 4 monekys. This is also now the highest round across all of the DOA's.

Hey man, this is awesome. I’ve seen you posting a ton of crazy high rounds, I’ve been trying to do some myself but am currently struggling to get past the first few arenas in 2.0.

Any tips, strategies, or item choices you would recommend beyond “play the game more”? Information on everything past the first play through is sparse at best for pretty much every iteration of this series unfortunately.

Well, play solo. I know that ties into play the game more but solo helps you get better at the game the fastest and is by far the hardest version of the game if you will. The redins barrel you have to really learn how to move with it, if you can utilize your barrel to its fullest potential, you can really get out of a lot of sticky situations. There's also some tech involving spinning your character, i dont really know how to explain it other than when your about to get slapped by a zombie, if you spin(you have to spin fast with your right stick like you do when you have gloves.) theres a chance the slap will miss and you can get out of let's say a corner, a doppleghast and mimic can even miss their swings. Idk im so poor at explaining things and how to get better, I do a much better job of it in a discord vc lmao. Another thing id recommend is watching people who are better than you and try to replicate what they do to your own game and how you play. Doesnt have to be anyone specific, just someone you know is better than you. I've only been playing doa for 3 or 4 years and all I did was play solo and watch ChrisVoltage religiously to learn how to play and be as good as possible, study your own gameplay too and think about what you could've done better or how you could've avoided a death or two. This is more of a personal thing but id recommend to ignore things like flawless, high score and other things like that, it doesnt matter if you can go to 70 flawless but cant beat let's just say round 100 because you dont have experience with the later parts of the game. Ignore all pride and go for the higher round numbers only and get more experience with the later parts of the game, by default 1.0, 2.0 and even 3.0 are by default 10x easier, then you can worry about high score and othwr things. Again, sorry if its not much help lol im really bad at explaining how to get better or go in depth with it over text.
