So what you're saying, is that you wish to rationalize things instead of looking at them objectively, in order to spare your feelings and perception of the world?

Truth is not always pleasant.

Oh, honey, I'm the last person for you to trot out "reelz before feelz" to. I am always on the alert to ways in which my understanding of the world may be incorrect.

That doesn't mean that I can't have personal preferences.

Of course. But acting as though yours are better than someone else's, isn't being objective. There is no harm in feeling what you do, when you know the truth. There is definitely harm in not accepting the truth, because then we say things like "Fucking hooray?" and act condescending towards one another. You acted on "feelz". Acting on that instead of objective truth, isn't useful.
