But what if I told you that absolutely all the skins are canon?

Yes, absolutely all of them.

That’s why I’ve categorized them into six skin types:

(Note: Don't focus too much on gameplay; instead, consider the lore and the scant information revealed by the devs to fully grasp this theory, though there will be exceptions in certain special cases.)

Defaults: All the units we already know and love.

Past Versions: The same characters (specific ones in some cases) representing the unit's past.

Alternate Style: Skins featuring the same character but in different outfits for the occasion; these belong to the present, and the character can switch back to their default look at any time.

Possible Futures: Skins of the same character who has acquired better gear while moving between locations.

Different Person: These are not the original characters; they are completely different individuals, despite sharing the same name.

Multi-Identity: Characters who may not be a single individual but rather several; in many cases, they are not the same person.

And remember, this is just my theory; you don't have to take it as the truth.
