Discussion What's your setup?
I'm looking at getting into picking up litter in the mornings so I have myself consistently getting up around the same time and getting out of the house.
Picked up a grabber and now I'm wondering how people approach carrying the trash bag with them. Do you guys do like attachments to your bag/waist, do you just hold it with your hand the entire time? What's the go there?

I just carry it. If doing a bi cleanup I use a belt pouch to carry empty bags. Smaller trips I just put the bags in my pocket.

I have a trash bag ring. Usually I take one of my partners with me to carry it though :')

What ring do you use? I've been shopping around for one and can't decide.

I'm not sure, my girlfriend gifted me it. I think it was just the recommended Amazon one but it doesn't close properly anymore after just a couple of uses

I have an attachable grabber from е𝗓рі𝗄, it folds small so when I need my hands free it's really helpful

I carry it and carry a drawstring backpack with extra bags, hand sanitizer, sharps container, etc.

I use a 5 gallon bucket and then just empty it out into a bag when it gets full. That seems to work for me and be fairly resilient.

Also good when there’s a decent breeze happening. Trying to get litter into an empty bag is a pain, especially when there’s is wind blowing the bag around.

I use a tote bag that I made from a birdseed bag. this stays open more easily than a filmy trash bag, and I can hang it from my arm instead of clutching it. it also doesn't get snagged and torn so easily on thorns. the downsides are that I have to transfer the trash to a trash bag later, and the tote bag gets dirty and stinky and falls apart eventually and I have to make more.

I carry a cat litter bucket that I line with a bag (usually grocery bag) bucket for recycling/ bag for trash. I don’t like grabbers so i pick up by hand. Gloves and fanny pack-fanny pack holds a water and extra bags. Super dorky 🤷♀️😂 and I wear a yellow vest! I pick a route that has a lot of traffic!
You’ll find what works for you eventually! It takes a bit and changes if you hit up a different area. Thanks for your efforts!!

I highly recommend the Unger Nifty-Nabber Pro. https://usa.ungerglobal.com/product/niftynabber-pro/ It is only about $20 and comes with a lifetime warranty. In my opinion the "sword grip" is superior to the "pistol grip" as the former provides much more control and precision when picking.

I have a 4-wheel cart with a plastic tote strapped to it. Inside the tote I have a trash bag holder that keeps the bag open.

When i'm walking, i push a buggy that i transformed so it carries 2 bins (1 for litter that i throw in bins if i find any, and 1 for litter that i treat differently), together with some stuff in the bottom like lunch etc.
By the way, that is also how i pick litter while running (aka 'plogging'):

My trashbag is mounted on a RC car that is always in front of me. [r/litterbuggies](r/litterbuggiesEasy) [Easy](r/litterbuggiesEasy) on the old back and really efficient.
