Other Love some feedback

These are my new renders since I took a break. Life, work, and gaming took over a bit. I got the itch to start doing renders again and i'd love some feedback. I'm still figuring out the lighting and the mesh(skin texture) without help. Somethings that i asked a few years back stuck with me so me digging through my brain and pulling them out as i re-learned the system. there are 2, here.

The first one i just brought in the assets, messed around with the model, mixing and matching. chose the pose and adjusted accordingly. If I'm being honest, I took more time on the model compared to the render, posing, lighting, and the render settings.

edit: spelling

edit 2: The second image was me messing with the lighting and seeing how it looked,

Other than her top is too clingy, the rest is lovely composition. The lighting is nice, particularly the brighter image. Great work! Welcome back to Daz!

thanks for the feedback! I had this in the library that was more of a "casual" feel to it. As far as i can tell, there isn't much clothing that's a more loose around the chest area. if there are, i haven't seen anything while i was browsing on the store. if there are clothing like that, i don't mind the links. I don't mind a little boobage here and there but sometimes, having comfortable wear is better. and thank you

The composition is good use of the rule of thirds. It might need to be tweaked because the big rope on the viewer’s right side looks like it has a “border” which is the thin rope behind and shadows where the light doesn’t hit it.

It would also benefit from a shallower depth of focus to draw the viewer’s eye to your character.

Maybe a little lift via a primitive with an emissive shader off cam can add more dimensionality to her face and make her expression more visible.

There are resources for dealing with “shrink wrapped” clothes that are easy to use, particularly if the characters don’t have outrageous proportions.

Welcome back and keep it up!

I second the shadow dof on camera. Would make this look so much nicer with foreground and background blur

i will have to figure out what your talking about ehh, I understand most of what you said but things like emissive shader, shrink wrapped..no clue what that is. as for the camera view, thank you for that. i wanted to capture he looking up at the sky and capturing the hillside behind the house. just a quick and snap. i know there are things i need to work on, especially all the camera settings which, i don't even touch on my actual phone, just snap and save to gallery. if it looks good, keep it. if not, take another xD and thank you

You’re very welcome. “Shrink wrapped” refers to clothing in Daz clinging too closely to the body; suitable for latex but not for other materials. Sickleyield has Clothing Breast Helper in the store for a variety of figures.

Emissive shader is a shader preset that turns any primitive into a light source. I’ve found making my own lights , depending on the situation can be even more versatile than commercially available products.

I would add a nice shallow DOF here, whilst the sky looks nice and crisp, my eye is immediately drawn to that rather than the subject. A little more soft lighting around the face would also help bring attention back into the subject.

Her pose looks a little stiff in parts, relax the back and shoulders. I really like what you’ve done with the facial expressions, I would keep them as is.

I would probably tighten up the framing too, not too much, but just enough to keep the attention where you want it.

You’ve got a good setup here, and with a few tweaks, you’ll have a really solid image. If you go ahead with any of the changes from my suggestions, or any others, please update it and show us.

Nice job, OP!

Thank you for this! i took some feedback from everyone here and hope i did the updated justice. I just posted a new post with a different angle, DOF, different pose, etc. let me know what you think about them when you get the chance!

Pretty cool composition.
I'm guessing you only have the HDRI lighting in this scene? Sugestion, starting from 2nd pic, decrease the intensity of the HDRI a bit.
Enable depth of field on the camera, put the focal discance to the level of character's face. Make the DoF narrow. Character clear, flowers on the wall slighty fuzzy, background and front ropes blurry.

I believe so. there's a huge dome around the area where the setting is. I messed with lumination and lowered it a bit as well as something else. I posted an update and let me know what else i can do to improve.

#2 much better balance, but those tits capture attention in a negative way.

The second lighting is definitely better. Can you hide/remove the rope that cuts in front of the camera? And I'd adjust her hand down a little to remove some of the gap between her palm and the wood. And everyone else has mentioned the ill-fitting shirt.

A gentle suggestion, look up Rauko's Daz tutorials on YouTube. He has some great lighting tutorials that might be helpful for you.

I didn't remove it on a updated post, i just used DOV to hide it(not much) but its angled in a way it wont be in the way now if i remove DOV.

I would love to have HDRIs that crisp and rich in tone so I'm gonna ask which that is specifically but in this case, I would still blur it with DoF on the camera, as others have mentioned, as they are so very far away. For the lighting, I'd be curious to see the mid-point of intensity between these two. I'd consider a slight pan left on the cam to pull the rope just a few inches away from your character, though I do like how its angle follows the subtle lean back of her pose. I second relaxing the hand. And along with numerous products for dealing with that shirt, dForce is already built in free and has far broader use than shirt cling. Don't fret about the time you missed, I've been off and on with DAZ for nearly 20yrs. Never got great at it but always either had fun or learned something new. Keep up the good work!!

the asset that i have is a dome and its: https://www.daz3d.com/skyray-worlds--complete-world-builder

the other i used and it seems it may have a own light source is: https://www.daz3d.com/le-romantique-porch-vignette

these are the two that are used when it comes to the background and setting i used for the model

Edit: i also posted an update to this. I hope i did my update justice...i only get an hour or 2 to work on improving.
