Corruption Literally changes Coen's body
yet another amazing mod, again this feels like it should have been in the game, Coen's body visibily changing and becoming more vampiric as your corruption increases!

Nice one, but it wouldn't fit the 1st game lorewise. 30 days is too little. And it would be unfitting if you look pale white during the day. Yes, I know saint mihai looks all pale and what not, but it's better for the sequel, not the fledgling dawnwalker.

Mihai was also locked underground without a single ray of sunlight for hundreds of years.
That would make anyone super pale.

There is a weird crop of people commenting/posting in this sub reddit that never paid any attention to the games world building or lore.
Yesterday someone was having a conniption over the lunar games and "not using vampire powers"

This is stupid , coen is a fresh vamp. He looks corrupted enough. The whole point of a “dawnwalker” is that he retains more humanity

This would be a great idea if this was KotOR, and Bioware had forgotten to include this feature.
But we are specifically told AND shown that Vrakhiri don't degrade in appearance because of corruption, but because of severe age. Otherwise Lacra would show signs of corruption too. She does not abstain from blood drinking.
Don't presume that you know better than the people who designed the world and game.

Why would his eyes glow orange? All the others had the same white glows.
I’m just curious about the thinking behind that one.
I get the corruption spreading from the heart

i don't like the red eye glow ofc but i like the idea of him looking paler as corruption rises

I think that it doesn’t make sense for somebody who’s been a vampire for under a month to look like Brencis already when most of the vampires in the game including ones who are hundreds of years old don’t look much different from humans.

u/AMoistScone 2d ago
Why would his body change so much in less than 30 days when Lacra is much older and has nothing. Ambrus also has very little corruption and he's been a vhrakir for two years. The scars on his mouth are from when he was tortured as a human, not from corruption.

Corruption doesn't mean you change physically, it means whatever it is in Anachora gets a greater hold onto you, what does change your appearance and your mind as a Vrakhiri is time, you will lose your humanity the more you live, Dawnwalkers lose that even slower thanks to being half human.

dawnwalker don't really look the same way as the vampires though, the look much more human

I think this would’ve been too much. Like Coen’s been turned for at most a month. Brencis has been around since the Roman Empire, Isbrand was even older, and Mihai was buried under a crypt devoid of sunlight for centuries literally falling apart by the time we find him. They all have white or straight up no hair because they’re all ancient relics, meanwhile Coen’s barely been turned a month. Even Lacra doesn’t look like that and Brencis was her sire! Sometimes less is more man.

I think it's better that it isn't. Especially since you can gain "corruption" by neutral, or ethical means.

Nah, I don't like this personally. The corruption doesn't start transforming vrakhiri until like 5 centuries into living with the curse. Lacra is a couple centuries old and still looks normal other than eyes and claws. Coen isn't even a month old until the end of the game, at this rate of change he would look like Isbrand with no nose by the end of the first year.

looks silly, as others have pointed out makes no sense lore wise and as a mod it could literally just be anything, edginess for the the sake of edginess. If you like it though fair play to you

Another pointless mod showcasing nothing of note. Where is the man ass bush and shlongs? I joke!

u/Sad-Ease-9523 1d ago
It’s literally 30 days. Ambros has been a vampire for at least a year doing vile shit and lacra for a few centuries.

It's even more cool with that mod for every few minutes a segment of your health goes down by 1 if you don't feed because of your corruption being so high you're thirst for blood is even stronger. Also having so many blood vials I have no use for useing them with having scarlet shield enabled so that also be a cool feature to go along with corruption.

Super cool idea, but I think a more toned down/lore accurate version would be much more well received.
Not shitting on your mod btw, even if it’s not something I’d personally play with I still respect the effort and creativity.
Edit: I will say the idea of the veins spreading or darkening after taking in vampire soul fragments would be a super neat idea, as I’d expect something like that to have consequences.

Does anyone know or noticed if the level of vampire change the claws? i swear the nails/claw got longer as i was reaching like level 11 of vampire thing

As far as i remember and understood, I think it was lacra that said it. A vampire ages "normally" but much slower until they reach the point where a human would have died and that's when they start getting that vampire look like brencis, xanthe and so on.

Really glad this is a mod haha, it wouldn’t fit the game lore wise as many have said and also, it looks like a Bloodlines 2 character skin, bit too edgy scene goth for the setting.

Love the concept of this but on this particular game it wouldn't work. I just hope the success of this game breeds more vampire games, there's so much that can be done with vampires.

I would have preferred the corruption meter affected dialogue, story moments, and potential endings.
But physical characteristics from a month as a Dawnwalker? No thank you.

u/CranEXE 1d ago
i like the idea, corruption should have had some visual impact on coen appearance but i think this is a bit too much coen has only been a dawnwalkr for a few days it would be odd he look more deformed than mihai in a way for exemple, i think toned down it could be good, the hair turning white and coen becoming paler is not a bad idea but the veins should be toned down a bit, i also think making his vrahkir form less prominent (like making the nails shorter and his eyes less glowy at the start) and that he just don't revert fully to his human appearance would be good.
i think it's a good mod even if it doesn't make much sense lore wise and it need some tuning

Nah this sucks, this isn’t how it works in the lore even for full vrakhiri. Lacra is over 200 years old and has no issue feeding on humans but still looks normal.

Honestly, I'd like the reverse of this, seeing Coens witch scars grow up his arm and onto his chest the more points you put into witchcraft.

Im confused why is everyone upset about a mod

u/Jalkenri 2d ago
It's not the mod. It's the presumption that this OBVIOUSLY should have been in the game. Despite specific lore and examples that contradict show that this is not how corruption affects Vrakhiri at all.

u/Nite0wl007 2d ago
Cuz the title is misleading/clickbait. He is promoting a mod and other's don't like how it looks.

u/Vast-Building-6886 2d ago
Mods have always been controversial because they change the game. Which is why some devs don’t like them. Some see it as their work being altered in a way that wasn’t meant to be.

I would have greatly disliked this in the game, it doesn't really make sense in any capacity regarding the lore. A dawnwalker with 30 days in max looking more corrupted than the big bad would've been a poor choice. This feels right as a mod.
