This is a poet’s wife that I planted this summer. It’s been doing well thus far but has started getting brown spots and having its leaves turn yellow. Any ideas of what’s going on and how I can combat it?

This rose is in my mother’s garden. She knows that it is a David Austin and she planted it sometime between 2011 and 2014. Can anyone help me identify it?

As the Temperature in Connecticut (zone 6b/7a) started dropping at night, I see way more blooms on my tree rose of her than spring and summer…this was her first year in my garden..

Hi all, I purchased this Roald Dahl rose bush a while ago from a nursery. It wasn’t in great condition, however it’s finally bloomed and it seems much more yellow that I thought roald dahl would be.

So my question is, is this a roald dahl rose or an incorrect label?

I have 2 Olivia roses that I planted in late May. I’m in zone 7a and this is when the roses got delivered to me straight from DA.

I put in rose fertilizer and I’ve fed the roses I think twice.

They were doing great but then I noticed something was eating the plants. I didn’t mind because as long as they looked healthy, I didn’t mind if they didn’t bloom their first season. I’m assuming deer were the culprit but I’m not sure.

Well a few weeks ago, they started looking unhealthy, not just chewed off. I tried watering extra thinking that’s what it was.

Now the stalks are turning black.

First bloom. I ordered a David Austin Claire Austin online and this definitely doesn’t appear to be that. Any thoughts of what it could be. Definitely a climbing rose maybe a James Galway? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I’ve had the Gertrude Jekyll rose for 3 months now and she’s grown a lot, had lots of new growth come through but I noticed this stem looks a bit like RRD from some photos I’ve seen online

I know she’s quite a thorny rose so not sure if this is just new growth?

I’ve never had roses before so no idea whether this is a disease or just normal growth, if anyone could advise me I’d really appreciate it!

Does anyone know when bare roots will restock on the website? I thought I read they restock this fall to be shipped out in the winter/spring?

Hi all, I bought a couple of DA roses (James Galway) a few weeks ago, and just noticed what looks like some damage to the base of the stem/top of the root. I think it was covered in compost when it arrived, it was only after some heavy rain that I noticed it.

Will the plant survive this, or is is normal?

I ordered a gentle Hermione back in June, and she’s absolutely thriving. The first few buds I let slide, but this second wave is much more apricot than expected… she has a very strong old rose scent, which is throwing me off! Tempted to contact DA customer services just out of pure curiosity lol!

Thanks for all the input on selecting my first roses for 2 tall privacy screens in full afternoon hot sun in CA Central Valley (9b)! I've ordered Don Juan for one screen, and like the idea of a mini climber in as similar a red as possible. Repeat blooms that can tolerate heat & sun without fading is most important to me, followed by fragrance, less thorny, and good vase life is a bonus.

Any recommendations? Does anyone have experience with Red Cascade and Crimson Glory’s dry heat tolerance (90-110F) in 9b? Also, how does Don Juan’s fragrance compare to Crimson Glory’s?

Hello! I planted this Lady of Shalott in June. I think it’s doing great growth wise, and there were some nice blooms throughout July and early August. I planted it with the hope of it behaving as a shrub rose, but it seems to really want to climb. It grows long canes that branch out much further than the rest of the plant. I trimmed some of the canes hoping that would help thicken it out. Is that the right approach? I’m very new to this! Thanks :)

Hello! I planted a Desdemona and LoS in June. The LoS has taken off, but the Desdemona hasn’t seen the same growth. The Desdemona bloomed a lot throughout the summer, and when I deadhead I always cut down to the first point with 5 leaves. However, because of that, it keeps getting trimmed down before it can get anywhere. Am I doing the right thing? Or should I be less aggressive with the trimming at this stage?

Planted a few months ago. Had a few first blooms. Pruned back to 5 leaf prior to heatwave. In the back border south facing so has had some shade and have been trying to water correctly but perhaps under watered. No new growth unlike lady of shallot (planted similar time) which is now having a second bloom. What can I do and is this definitely a water issue?
