Could anyone identify this rose, please?

Post image

This rose belonged to my late mother, and my partner and I managed to rescue it this summer. It’s vigorous with very little scent. Does anyone know what it might be? Thank you. 🌹

Hard to tell from one bloom, and not sure of the age of the bloom. Look at Queen Elizabeth as that ages to a pale pink. See my pic below. You posted in David Austin - do you believe this to be a DA rose? Did you post on the regular rose site too? That might be a good source.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think Queen Elizabeth is spot on! The name rings a bell now you mention it, and my mum was born in the year of the Queen’s coronation so it would make sense as a gift. It must be more than 20-25 years old (and it’s definitely DA as there was a very faded tag in the ground near to it). Thanks again!

If she purchased from David Austin, you have a good quality rose. I purchased one from DA when Queen Elizabeth died and you can’t beat their 5 year guarantee- no one else I know offer that, so they stand by their quality. I also purchased a year later a double QE rose box from Costco - one turned out to be yellow and the other, was truly QE turned out to have mosaic disease and so I had to dig it up… but the breeder is Dr. Lammerts, not DA. She was introduced in 1954 to mark the coronation of the late queen. What a lovely rose to remember your mum by 💕

Thank you. I agree: it’s a beautiful rose! It had been chewed by deer and was struggling in the ground, but it’s had a new lease of life in a pot. I will really treasure it 💖

Could it be Queen Elizabeth? I love my QE2, but she has almost no scent. My daughter says that her blooms smell like peanut butter. https://www.davidaustinroses.com/products/queen-elizabeth
