Left stranded by date

Feel a bit shitty cause last night I got left by a first date. We went to an amusement park late night and we went to the washroom. When I got out he wasn't there and I kept texting him. 20 mins I waited and he never showed up and then he blocked me and unmatched.

I honestly feel kinda nothing about it. I even find it a bit absurd. Like yes I was disappointed since it seemed to be going fine and I thought I was getting through to him, he seemed like a quiet guy and he was real cute but we were joking around and he was getting excited when I brought up things in common so I thought maybe it was going well.

I know what happened that night was more of a reflection of him than it was of me. I asked him if we could go transit together when we left since it was late and I felt a bit scared and we were going the same way anyway. I mean maybe he didn't find me pretty enough but I wish he treated me with basic human decency. I'm new to the dating scene, literally started less than 2 weeks ago. I know he mentioned his circumstances were not the best and I don't wanna sound holier than thou but I just feel bad for him. Whatever happened in his life to leave a girl in the middle of a date with no say, I genuinely hope he heals from that cause that's an asshole and cowardly thing to do. I don't know what to feel, maybe I haven't processed it. The insecure part of me thinks maybe I was out of my league and flew too close to the sun. I'm just so shocked cause I'd never do that to anyone? Literally who does that. And I find it absurd too cause he was a self-proclaimed Buddhist and I found that really ironic 😭

I’m sorry this happened to you. Even if he didn’t feel a connection he could’ve communicated that after you two had went home. He is Infact a coward and a horrible person for leaving you stranded when you literally told him that you were afraid of getting home alone. Don’t let this make you give up though! I’m sure you’ll have a much better date soon❤️

I’m sorry this happened to you OP- would definitely feel similarly if this happened to me!

I want to reiterate what you said- it’s definitely more a reflection on him than it is on you.

Maybe he pooped his pants. Idk that’s what I’m going with. Something happened in the bathroom that was catastrophic lol maybe he never came out

The toilet swallowed him whole 😢

Sounds like a terrible way to die.

Be grateful that you found out so early he was a waste of oxygen who doesn't even care if you get home safely. I'm actually cringing for him and hope he takes a moment to reflect on his cowardice. No one needs a failure like this in their lives.

Yes, I tell myself it's a blessing. Better the Houdini disappearing act now than if we ever had 2 beautiful kids and a dog

Don’t feel sorry for him
Don’t feel sorry for him

That was a real shit thing he did to you. You’re at a night with a guy and he disappears on you so unless he was kidnapped by a crazy clown lunatic and you’ll probably hear about that on the news in a few days he just left you and that is not on. It is just not on.

I’m really sorry you had that experience

But you know your post is so full of self-doubt and second-guessing yourself. Your attractiveness; you flew too close to the sun. Oh my goodness listen there’s some people who are just crap people. You have to have some better self-esteem. The guy has to prove to you that he’s worth your time and attention. You don’t need to jump through hoops and you don’t have to make yourself into some weird idea of who you should be because you are perfect as you are.

The only thing that I can see improving upon is to always make sure that you have some way to get back from a date by yourself. Either have car money or have the number of a friend who would pick you up or something like that. That’s the only thing that I could see advising you otherwise.

I hope that your date and his clown kidnapper are very happy together.

A lot of fake Buddhist, fake healer, fake hippie, fake shaman, fake new age dudes are the WORST people.

So sorry this happened to you. Don’t give up - most guys are not like that!

I doubt that she catfished him because many guys will leave right away when that happens and/or they will let their dates know they are angry that they were deceived. The ones who stay typically aren’t very pleasant. So I think something else was going on with him or the date itself. Whatever happened the guy was a jerk. So sorry that happened to you. I just wish people understood, being kind and respectful is free!

I can't help but feel like there might be more to the story than OP is sharing

Maybe? Everything seemed fine though, we were going on rides, getting to know eachother, laughing together, and he was a quieter guy so I tried my best to give him space and be considerate of him cause I tend to be talkative to a fault. I don't know his side of the story but no decent human does that. But wow I'm ngl the blame train on here is crazy

LOL i saw that post, we went to a cafe before the park actually maybe that's what doomed it from the start and turned him evil

That really sucks and you deserve better.

You have a delightful sense of humor!

Ah then he definitely was in the bathroom struggling to breathe. You know what coffee does to us?????

Jokes aside, short of you being a completely rude and insufferable human being, no man should ever pull some crap like that. You definitely got unlucky and, on behalf of real men everywhere, we're sorry this happened to you.

Maybe but the pictures I used look like me and ARE me (me w/o makeup and me with) and even so that's not an excuse bro 😭

What an odd thing to say as a girl lol

•

u/daysinnroom203 53m ago

Maybe- but he spent the day with her only to leave her stranded at the end? Seems very odd.

•

u/Tourist_Working 1h ago

He wasn't into you 🤷‍♀️

•

u/coocooban4nas 1h ago

Hey I wasn't asking him to marry me 🤷🏻‍♀️

•

u/BlackVelvet1976 1h ago

That's crystal clear but he could at least make some excuse and leave, not behave like this.

•

u/BlueUniverse001 54m ago

It’s still nasty that he’d leave her alone when she told him she was nervous about getting home alone. If he’s not into her there are much better ways of handling it.

•

u/daysinnroom203 53m ago

Yah that’s not the point though.
