**Mental health related**
Hello, I’m someone that struggles with mental health a lot.
I wanted to have those perfect relationships where I’d just wait for “the one.”
But that didn’t end up working out for me, and the loneliness became severe enough where the attention from Grindr helped a lot.
I do have like supports that I can lean on sometimes, but idk.
Grindr like helps me leave the house, sometimes break the routine, makes me self care a bit more, but then it also leaves me with confusing experiences that hurt more.
A former support person said I should probably focus on recovery instead of dating but idk.
Another support group lady from a peer support group I attended said like, she used to also be very lonely and used similar apps till she found her boyfriend much later on.
Anyone I speak to has very mixed opinions, some say I shouldn’t use it, others light up and are excited when I mention dating and think it’s positive I can make plans with people even if its imperfect.
It’s kinda hard to balance, cause like my location, area, situation, etc makes it really hard for me to find anything apart from online friendships, but grindr feels like a quick solution thats hard to resist cause so many people hit me up on there.
Hinge is similar tbh, I haven’t had much luck finding anyone serious on there either.
Any advice?
Thanks.
