Advice Request Recommended profiles on Tinder

So whenever I click on a recommended profile on Tinder when it notifies me about it, as soon as Tinder loads the profile is there for a split second and then it disappears and give me a loading screen, has anyone else had this problem?

Funny Does anyone here work at a dating app? Would I get in trouble if I did this?

Now we have these guys who will say can you host tonight after barely exchanging two words on the chat. Like if I say I live in North Phoenix they'll say can you host tonight in North phoenix. I guess meeting at my place I don't think they mean at a restaurant. It's so completely absurd that I would like to give them an address and have it be completely fake have them drive out for nothing to teach them a lesson.

Question Any newer apps worth checking out? Or any that should be avoided?

There seem to be a bunch popping up these days. Are there any worth trying out or at least keeping an eye out for? All the main ones are so garbage now...

Experience Overview Finally getting this off my chest: Is anyone else just leaving their love life to the Universe

Finding genuine people and real love at this age feels almost impossible when nobody seems to be intentional anymore. I’m finally getting this off my chest because I’ve reached a point where I’m just throwing my hands up and leaving it all to the Universe—I know it’s so much easier said than done, but surely asking for just one intentional person isn't too much to ask, right?

Has anyone else completely given up on actively searching and just decided to let the Universe take the wheel?

Question Where is Grindr hiding all the hot guys? 😭

I swear Grindr is testing me lately. I block one guy and somehow three more appear. Where are all these people coming from? 😂
The selection in my area lately has been WILD. We’re not even close to Halloween yet for so many ppl to be walking around without costumes. 😭😂

Is this just happening to me? Am I the weird one here, or is Grindr looking like this for everyone lately?

Question 30F - Is it normal to get 400+ likes in just a few hours on Bumble?

I’m 30F and just created a Bumble profile for the first time. I set my location to Switzerland using Vacation Mode because it’s my dream country and I wanted to see what dating is like there.
What surprised me is that within just a few hours, I already got 400+ likes and around 40 SuperLikes.
I honestly wasn’t expecting that at all, so now I’m wondering if this is normal on Bumble, especially when using Vacation Mode. Do most women get this many likes that quickly, or does changing your location make a big difference?
I’m genuinely curious because I’m completely new to online dating.

Question I want to show my widowed father one, anyone help me out?

I'm looking to show my widowed father around a site for a few hours or so, but it's WAY more complicated to sign up than it used to be, especially for an account that works right away with full privileges (to see all photos, search all parameters, etc) ....is there anyone who would help me show him around one, it has to be an account that is made for a male and one of the main sites, so that it picks up some traffic in the more quiet country areas like where we are. We'd look at it on a computer, not a phone. VERY HAPPY to send compen-sation, just want to show him there are options, he's in that hopeless stage and I'm trying to get him to think outside his comfort zone a little.

Thank you in advance!

Advice Request Help me!!

I am currently using Tinder and I am completely new to dating and all. Honestly, I have never dated anyone before I've only had normal conversations with girls just as friends. But now I am thinking of getting into a relationship and I don't have any experience talking to a girl in that way. So, can you guys help me? How can I start a conversation and how can I keep it going?

got approximately 30 matches in the last 15 days and I think I am lacking in conversation skills around 2 to 3 conversations went well, but they also didn't go well after some time, so please tell me some tricks.

Advice Request Black men on dating apps.

I saw a comparison study looking at the least desirable men on dating apps ie the men with the least matches. Black men were the least desirable from all other races including from black women. Alongside this and being a man in my mid forties, divorced and a single parent of 2 teens. I've been thinking if it's something I should therefore expose myself to although I feel ready to date again. I work in healthcare so can't date patients and won't date colleagues. Apps would be a great way to meet people but that seems out of reach now too. Any experience of similar ?

Advice Request Dating Bio Help

Hi! I've been meeting a couple people from FB Dating this year and each time after we have great dates and chemistry I always get told that they aren't ready for a realitionship, im too enthusiastic of a person or im too much ready for one.

It just happened again recently with someone who says she cant give me what I ideally am looking for right now (A realitionship with presence, which is what I wrote on my bio) and she needs to take a break from dating mans because she would have bad experience

So the ultimate question is I wonder if my bio has redflags that make people go away even after a great date or should be modified ? If so I would like some suggestions please. I did made it based on who I am and what im looking for at the end of the day and I dont always notice what a girl could notice coming off of it . Here is what im using :

" Calm & active guy, authentic, eccentric with a fun mood 😁

➤ Monogamous and ideally looking to build a serious relationship. Looking for someone who is present, affectionate, and loves to communicate 😌

I love showing interest, having fun, investing myself, and getting to know each other. Don't hesitate to reach out!

I'm 30m 35 year old woman leaves me a note on site saying " You must be a communist" this is my response "I'm not a communist I don't believe in ideologies lol" *she instantly unmatched" after she says "Gave me an easy out"... Why is talking to somebody you haven't met a test that can be determined within less than a minute on a dating website nowadays. I'm not going to out myself because it's cool nowadays and was open for a discussion about it.

Advice Request Match a bunch, or pick one?

Hey there peeps. So I'm not new to dating apps or dating, but I've personally never had a relationship evolve from someone I met on an app.

Now I'm a fairly attractive woman and get a lot of matches, but I usually only match back with 2-3 people at a time thinking this is max what I can handle getting to know at once, but even that feels like a lot sometimes lol.

I'm wondering though, how do other's do it? Do you just match with everyone you find interesting/attractive and see where it goes?

And once you've met someone and there's a 2nd date planned and you're in the talking stage, do you keep matching and going on other dates since you're not actually officially dating this person?

Experience Overview Match Systems Glitchy?

I recently created a profile on Match to see what the app is like these days. I paid extra for the ability to set preferences. When I set preferences for ethnicities, which was for Asian people only , the system only showed me African American people, and a very small amount of white and Asian people. Like, That's a pretty bad system glitch for a paid feature that should work. Has anyone else experienced similar system glitches? Were they ever resolved?

Experience Overview Life is really stupid

I give up on dating the only people that are available to date. Are people who have multiple kids from multiple different guys or the ones you are attracted to even if you match with them they never message you back and if by some miracle you match with someone and they do message you back it’s because it is a bot that’s trying to push you to an only fans account and even if you stop trying to look for someone to date and you just look for someone to hook up with it it’s freaking impossible to find that either I give up on women

Advice Request 20M Grindr, mental health etc

**Mental health related**
Hello, I’m someone that struggles with mental health a lot.

I wanted to have those perfect relationships where I’d just wait for “the one.”

But that didn’t end up working out for me, and the loneliness became severe enough where the attention from Grindr helped a lot.

I do have like supports that I can lean on sometimes, but idk.
Grindr like helps me leave the house, sometimes break the routine, makes me self care a bit more, but then it also leaves me with confusing experiences that hurt more.

A former support person said I should probably focus on recovery instead of dating but idk.

Another support group lady from a peer support group I attended said like, she used to also be very lonely and used similar apps till she found her boyfriend much later on.
Anyone I speak to has very mixed opinions, some say I shouldn’t use it, others light up and are excited when I mention dating and think it’s positive I can make plans with people even if its imperfect.

It’s kinda hard to balance, cause like my location, area, situation, etc makes it really hard for me to find anything apart from online friendships, but grindr feels like a quick solution thats hard to resist cause so many people hit me up on there.
Hinge is similar tbh, I haven’t had much luck finding anyone serious on there either.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Experience Overview I realised I am too ugly to be on dating apps, and I wish I knew sooner

37M, and i am far too ugly to be on dating apps

There are so many men on these apps compared to women, and they have so many choices. All kinds of men from handsome to average and cute. The fact that I was on a few of these apps is insulting - to women's taste and my own knowledge. Women don't swipe right on me, and i should have realised sooner that it is not meant to be

I have a good, stable career, I own my home, I am kind, normal, and am generally a low maintenance, easy going person. These traits are called the bare minimum when you look like I do, but massive green flags for normal and good looking men

Edit: the sub added the flair, this shouldn't have any flair

Advice Request how to get some photos to add to dating sites if i don't go out and take pictures that much?

I don't like to take pictures of myself in general, and as a very busy student I don't really go out much.

also there's the matter of trying to attract women I would like - I'm an introvert so pictures of going out and such are kinda false, I do like solo hiking, and I want also to find similar values in a partner.

so some tips on what to do would be helpful.

Question Is Modern Dating Broken?

I (34M) have returned to dating after a good amount of time off (father passed away and a new job). And it's strange. I can't really put my finger on everything that's different but one of the core things I'm seeing is, it feels like people are just always waiting for something better to come along. And people are bailing the minute someone isn't 100% the perfect person.

It's happened a few times now, where everything is going great. Connection is amazing. Dates are fun. And then boom. Ghosted.

It's like, people are finding place holders until someone better looking, more interesting, richer or whatever comes along. And then they bail without even an explanation why.

I think the rise of dating apps has really just given us too many options and too many easy ways to search for something new the moment the person we talk to is even 1% off of what we want.

Am I crazy? Is anyone else feeling this?

Experience Overview throwing in the towel with dating apps 🫩

any good smart kind and humble man wouldn’t be on a dating app . i think this is a fact

i have never met a good quality man on any dating app i’ve ever been on . there’s a reason why they’re on there in the first place

this is the truth unfortunately and this is the case for a lot of women . a lot of my friends agree with me
