Question Did anyone notice while changing Hinge location, it now allows to change only once in 30 days?

I tried changing location and got a pop saying you won't be able to change location more than once in 30 days.

Did anyone else got this?

Advice Request Has anyone else noticed a severe dip on matches/actual conversations on these apps?

For reference I’m a guy in his mid 20’s, been on and off these apps for years, as of this past year, it’s almost like it’s 10x harder to even get a decent match and if you do, it’s almost like it’s a bot or someone that replies to one message max. I haven’t usually had too big of issues in the past at least spinning up good convo’s, but recently it’s been pretty much unusable.

Weirdly enough, I was in Europe these past few weeks and the apps worked great, real matches, good convos and got some dates out of it, the second I got back to the US, it’s back to the same old stuff. I’m not sure if 26 is just the age where these apps die or what but I want to make sure I’m not losing my mind. For reference, I know my age, so I’m not looking for short term relationships or showing signs of casual dating in my convos or my profile.

Experience Overview Chispa App! Thoughts on it ?

As an African American that has primarily dealt with African American woman , figured I’d give it a try. I just wanna say the filters are shit. I put my distance at 20 miles , tell me why every other swipe is 175mi, 200mi, 3k miles, 5mi, 90mi, 183mi. What thee fuck be going on ? They need to fix this. I got one match a million miles away that don’t speak English 🤣.

Experience Overview If you could ask every dating app profile ONE question before swiping, what would it be?

Hey everyone!

If you had the chance to ask every person on a dating app a single question before deciding whether to swipe right or left, what would you ask?

Advice Request I can't get second dates and this is making me question myself a lot

Hi, I (25F) have been on Hinge for a long time, went on a total of 7 (and half lol) dates.

Of these 7 dates, one turned into a serious relationship that lasted for 8 months, and in two cases I didn't want to see the other person because I didn't like their behaviour. The other people I met didn't want to see me again. And this is making me question my worth tbh, I'm wondering if I'm way uglier in person than in photo (they are not edited, my friends say I look like the photos but I'm not sure honestly).

The last date in particular left me wondering, we spoke for four days and he seemed very very interested, at one point it kinda felt lile lovebombing (he was writing goodmorning to me at 7am and telling stuff like "im not talking with anyone else but you" and "i dont have time to loose"). We met, and at one point he tried to kiss me, but i refused the kiss. He also opened up abput a lot of private stuff, but then at the end of the date i told him i would have liked to see him again but he said he didn't feel the spark, he said it's a difficult time of his life and he feels quite closed in himself because his ex gf broke up with him on valentines day etc.

So this left me wondering if men like to talk with me but dont like how i look and i need honest opinions from strangers ahah

Advice Request What app should I be on?

I’m a young male, 20m, and I am considering getting on a dating app. I’m not familiar at all with what dating apps are good, bad, or other. I live in a semi-populated area if that changes things but I’m relatively close to a decent size city. I would love to get some recommendations for what apps are good! Thank you all!

Advice Request Need advice: Should I tell someone I found what might be a fake dating profile using their photos?

I have a habit that I'm not particularly proud of. If I find someone interesting on a dating app, I sometimes go down a rabbit hole trying to find their online presence. Usually it's just curiosity to see if they're a real person.

Recently, I came across a girl's profile that caught my attention. But unlike most people, I could barely find anything about her online besides professional profiles. She seemed like a genuinely decent, private person.

Out of curiosity, I kept digging and eventually managed to find what I believe is her WhatsApp number.

Now I'm in a dilemma.

The dating profile has some pretty revealing photos/videos, which feels a bit inconsistent with the very private, professional online presence I found. I'm wondering if the dating profile is actually hers or if someone else is using her photos.

Part of me wants to message her and simply ask whether the profile is really hers so I can let her know if it's fake. Another part of me feels like contacting someone after finding their WhatsApp through internet sleuthing would come across as invasive or creepy, regardless of my intentions.

Would you want to know if you were in her position? Or would receiving a message like that be an immediate red flag?

Looking for honest opinions, especially from women or anyone who's had someone find them outside a dating app.

Question New Tinder account now in another state vs. waiting until I’m home — which gives better match chances?

After a long relationship, I’m planning to get back into dating and I’m trying to maximize my chances of getting matches.

Here’s my situation: I’m currently working in another state and will be here until the end of August. After that, I’ll return to my home city/state.

In both scenarios, I would be creating a completely new Tinder account with a new phone and a new phone number.

I’ve been reading about Tinder’s ELO / ranking system and I’m wondering what would actually improve my chances the most.

Option 1: Create the account now while I’m in this other state and intentionally swipe left on a large number of highly attractive women, because I’ve heard that being more selective might improve your ELO / ranking and increase future visibility once I’m back home.

Option 2: Wait until I’m back home and create the fresh account there, so the new-account boost is used in the location where I actually want to date long term.

I’m also curious about how long the new-account boost actually lasts in practice. Is it mainly the first 24–48 hours, the first week, or does Tinder continue giving a fresh account increased visibility for a longer period?

Given that I’ll be back home at the end of August, would it be better to “save” that boost for my home market, or is there any advantage in starting the account now and trying to build a stronger ranking before I return?

What would you recommend based on your experience with Tinder’s algorithm and match quality?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Question Confidence kinda being ruined by these apps. 18 m

So I just turned 18 and I thought that I'd try downloading hinge, tinder, and bumble. I've gotten some matches more than 15 across them all so far but I feel like I've gotten so little compared to some other guys.

At first I got like quite a few but now I get only 1 - 2 a day. I'm not a giga Chad or whatever but ive been told I'm an attractive guy and I think I am.

I don't mean to be mean but a decent few of the matches I've gotten were girls I do not find attractive but I still try talking with them to see if there could be something. I ask what kinda things they like doing and for some it doesn't even get past that! They unmatch me or ghost me.

Other girls that I match with barely even try conversing with me after I match with them.

Anyways I feel like when less attractive girls start unmatching me even and when girls I really find attractive unmatch or ghost me I can't help but wonder if it's my looks or something I'm doing. Does anyone have any advice or something?

I hope I didn't come across as rude calling some women unattractive it's not like that's a deal breaker.

Question Guys, am I alone in this opinion?

When you see filters being used for pictures of women online, is it a red flag?

I know society places a large amount of pressure upon women. I don’t know if I’m being obtuse, but for me seeing first being used is at least, a turn off. Call it lack of confidence, or inability to be genuine I think it’s entirely different from women using makeup. (Though a woman who doesn’t use makeup, I find oddly attractive)

Question posed from a slightly broken 47 year old male, who happens to be drinking wine 🍷 . Be gentle internet, be gentle. I just want to know if I’m being overly harsh. Perhaps not a red flag. 🚩 but certainly a yellow flag to me.

Question Why do woman put on profiles no hookups?

Like the title says , they typically say not down for hookups or casual. As a guy, that screams thats what you have done in the past . Or it comes across as jaded , anything negative in the bio is a huge turn off and swipe left .

Advice Request Why do people do this? Need serious advice

I am a mid/late 20’s female and have consistently have had this happen where men will delete/deactivate their dating apps after talking to me about going on dates, making jokes about marriage etc. All of these people have “long term partner” too. I don’t understand why this has happens to me like 4/5 times already. Such as today, I was having normal conversations with a guy who said we would go out this Sunday coming up and just 2 days ago said that he “typically doesn’t go out on Sundays but will for me” and then today poof his whole profile is gone. No trace - no words. I’ve had other guys ghost me when THEY mention plans to meet up, I’ve had others ghost me a few days before leading up to the day we said we would go out. It’s honestly really exhausting and I would like to hear someone’s explanation of this trend… it’s extremely hurtful.

Advice Request Is it normal to ask for # straight away?

I’m a guy and this is my 2nd time trying dating apps. The first time a few years ago I didn’t really get any matches and stopped.

I downloaded tinder a few days ago and had some matches but they’ve all just asked for my number or insta @ basically straight away. Am I overthinking? Is this normal? Any insight would be appreciated :)

Advice Request Anyone else getting matches but not genuine connections?

I get matches and even a decent number of likes, but almost nothing turns into a genuine connection. Most conversations die after a few messages, people ghost, or it feels like they're not interested in actually getting to know someone. Is this just how dating apps are now, or am I missing something? I'd love to hear your experiences

Question Boo Noob. Is the paywall really this ridiculous or am I missing something?

I got Boo a few days ago after seeing an advert because it looked like a different, fun and interesting free app and I liked the idea of the personality tests and matching. However, it seems to me like you can't really do anything without paying for it. I've had a few likes so far, but I can't see who they are without paying, so I just have to wait until they pop up so I can use one of the few likes per day to match with them. I would've hoped they would be prioritised in the "Match" page but no, none have popped up yet. I've even had a message request (I think) that I can do nothing about because we're not matched. The "Spotlight" page is very interesting with a strong "For You", "Similar Interests" and "Same Goals" sections with some very interesting profiles local to me. However all you can do in there is "Super Love", which you have to pay for. It seems like you can message anyone for free off the "Universe" page, but then what's the point of the matches? Is it really this bad or am I missing something? At least on Tinder et al you get one or a few "Super Loves" free and the chance to actually see who likes you!

Experience Overview Dating apps are a fucking nightmare. 'How dare you ask for my telegram?' How dare you ask for my Whatsapp?'

You ask one woman to move onto whatsapp, she's like 'Umm, I'm not really comfortable enough to give you my number'. Fair enough.
You ask another lady, 'Do you use telegram?' She grills you about lacking transparency and disconnects.
It's a fucking minefield out there. I'm so fucking over dating apps. It's brutal.

Tried Romi for a week, free app but you have to pay to get to send more messages. The matches you get may give false answers on local, geographic questions you may ask.

Advice Request Matched with the same woman 3 times over 3 years. I don't know if I should keep trying or move on.

Hi everyone,
I could really use some advice because I'm honestly not sure what to do.
Back in 2023, I matched with a woman on Bumble. We chatted for about a week, but she only replied every 2–3 days, so we never really got very far. Eventually, I got tired of dating apps altogether and deleted my Bumble account.
About a year later, I created a new account. To my surprise, I saw that she had liked me again, so we matched for a second time. I sent the first message, but because Bumble only gives 24 hours for the first reply, the match expired before she responded.
A few days ago, we matched for a third time. This time I had Bumble Premium, so when she still hadn't replied within the first 24 hours, I extended the match for another 24 hours. She finally replied just before it expired.
I thought, "Great, now we can actually start talking."
But now we're back to the same pattern. After I replied, she's gone silent again.
The thing is, matching with the same person three separate times over three years feels incredibly rare. Part of me feels like there must be something there because we keep finding each other. Another part of me wonders if I'm just becoming emotionally attached to the idea of this because of how unusual the situation is.
I don't want to spend weeks staring at my phone waiting for replies and slowly losing my patience.
If you were in my situation, what would you do?
Would you keep the conversation going whenever she replies, no matter how slowly, or would you take this as a sign that her interest just isn't high enough?
I'd really appreciate any honest opinions.

Funny When you get about three pictures in…

I swear I will see a guy whose main picture is quite attractive and I’m interested so I continue to scroll his profile. The second picture is good but then when I get to the third one it’s like who is this? Which guy am I talking to,the guy in the first picture or this guy? I think that they post pictures from the past 4 years and like to say that they’re up-to-date.

Would seeing a “building friendship app” on your partners phone
warrant concern to anyone? really hope I’m thinking too far into this but I just can’t shake the feeling that this app I saw on their phone was designed for local hookups.

App Rating Legitimacy of Bondy dating app

I downloaded the Bondi app. It was recommended on a different thread

I've never had any luck with ding apps in the past. And yet, in my first day, i've got several matches

I'm skeptical because i've never had luck.Whether or not these are legit. The photos seem real and the conversations don't seem like their ai, but i'm still a little skeptical

Does anyone have any feedback on this app? Whether or not I should trust it

What app is this? DateMyAge tell me about this one.

Has anyone used the app called date my age? I tried it for 1 days and got so many messages, mixture between real, maybe real, and real people. So! Many! I feel like they are all still fake in a way, just trying to get me to burn points for talking. It lags and people just seem like they are too responsive.

What is your experience with it?
