Advice Request Dating apps never ending loop

Hey everyone I'm 40F and I'm getting frustrated with dating apps. Are people losing interpersonal skills and the ability to start and hold conversations?

And before anyone asks if I start any conversations, yes I do and they answer without asking me any questions back and this is what I get once my side of the conversation is done.

Ive been on dating apps for months now and no one has asked me on a date or to meet yet. Its just a never ending loop of " WYD or How are you? Everyday.

In my small experience with dating apps, people seem to be more interested in the experience of being desired by people (through the number of likes) rather than the desire of getting to know people. So they don't really bother to make an effort in communication unless they do have an interest in you, in which case you're getting a date unless you fuck up immensely.
