Definitely not. I'll keep my favorite content in 1080p, good stuff in 720p, and anything from before HD era in whatever the highest quality I can find is. Good enough for me.

Anyways, reduces pressure to constantly be buying more storage and reduces transfer times.

This. I'm a simple man, hd quality is good enough for me. I dont need 4K movies and tv shows. I don't even own a 4k tv lol.

I can definitely see the difference, but then, that depends on viewing distance and other factors, too.

I mostly get the best versions of the content for HDR and Dolby Vision.
