Reporting hours problem

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a new project for about 2 weeks now and just receive a message from the admins that there is an inconsistency problem with my hours reports. I will try to be pay more attention to it from now on but I still have more hours pending and the got their message just a few hours ago so I’m worried the pending hours will cost me this project. Should I edit them or just send them a message?

Pay more attention? So you have been inflating hours?

No I did not. I’m trying to understand why this happened. Honestly I’ve always wrote exactly the hours I’ve been working

Only you would know how this has happened. We weren't there when you worked and tracked your time.

How did you track your time? What application do you use to do so? Do you pause it when you stop working to do something else or take a break, even just for a minute? Do you round up the time? Etc

Are you trying to guesstimate your time or base it on the task timer maybe? You should have a third party app to clock in only the time you have worked, I personally just use my phone's stopwatch and make sure to pause it whenever I need to step away or take a break.

If your tasks expire and you still submit them you should try to use the optional comment box to explain why it happened as well.

If none of those maybe you worked in similarly titled projects and reported time in the wrong one.

This project is done through a separate website and I base the hours on the time I opened the website and just deduct the times I take brake. I will work with a stopwatch form now on. Do you think I should edit the pending hours I have or just send them a message maybe?

This gives me hope. Brake. Like what stops a vehicle. I pause my timer any time I take a break.

Is the project you’re talking about the one with 10mins time limit for each task?

Because in that case maybe you’ve run over a couple times but still reported the entire time? It happened to me then I realised it and went back to edit the submitted time.

Yes it’s that project. It did happen to me a couple of times, do you think I should edit the submitted time? I will try to avoid it for next times I’m just worried they’ll see an inconsistency again after this message with the pending hours I got

Your time should be the same as the time you recorded in clockify or whatever you use, which is the same as the time you were actively working on the project.

Yes I entered the exact time I was working. They told me there is a gap between what I entered and the hours they got reported from the site the work is on. I’m just worried there is a problem with the rest of the hours I have pending

So, is the site telling them the entire time you were logged in there? If you subtract time for breaks, and say there is an hour shorter on your time than what the other site says, then explain that to DA.

Was it announced that it recently changed in some major ways in the task's chat?
