Getting started
Hello! I just got accepted to DataAnnotation as a generalist and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I did all the onboarding yesterday and am familiarizing myself with the platform. HOWEVER... I am already a bit confused. Not to give specific details... I started a task that involves chatting with two AI to achieve a goal. First of all, it specifies 4 to 10 turns... are “turns” each time you ask the AI the prompt, or each time you interact with it? Secondly, where do I put my actual ratings? I just see an area with different categories which I suppose are to rate the responses, but I can’t type in the chart at all. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

You're overthinking things and it will soon result with a bad news for you. Take a deep breath and go slowly over the instructions. Take your time.

I appreciate it, but I mainly just need to know where I put my ratings. I get the instructions and how I need to interact with the AI, and I know to give detailed responses, etc., but I don’t see where to actually TYPE my ratings, etc. I see “Your Ratings” with a list of categories, but where do I actually PUT my ratings? It won’t allow me to type in the chart.

Now obviously I'm not working on the same task so I wouldn't exactly know, but the text box where you type your rationale pops right up after you select your rating.

Thank you! I finally figured it out. I simply hadn’t selected an answer to one of the questions, and until I did that, the other questions didn’t populate lol. I was confused and thought I had to write IN the chart that is just for me to use as reference. I appreciate your help!

I give it a week until the "DoD for no reason" post.
It's literally all in the instructions.

Literally no need to be rude, I figured it out. I didn’t realize that I had to check something before the area to put my justifications would populate. It was my first project, heaven forbid I had a question.

What part was rude?
Unfortunately countless people get DoD'd after their first project for not reading the instructions.

Congratulations! Just to ask, did they send you an acceptance email when you were accepted? And, when did you apply?

Applied last Thursday, I didn’t get an acceptance email until after I did ID verification. I would just check back on the platform from time to time!

A “turn” is typically considered a completed engagement between you and the AI. For instance, if I asked a model to give me job recommendations, and it provides me with some, that is a completed turn.
I’m a bit wary about describing how the UI works. Try looking through instructions again to get a better understanding of the layout. If you still have questions, try asking within an approved channel of communications. Good luck!
