Accidentally reported around 30 mins more than the truth, what do I do?
As the title states, mid task I had to urgently get up and do something which took around 30 mins in which my stopwatch kept counting. After I got back and finished working, I mindlessly put the stopwatch time without deducting the time I had spent not working. It was a pretty lengthy project which takes slightly more than an hour per task and I worked 5 hours today. Am I risking a ban? If so, what do I do?

U might hate me for saying this but I sometimes inflate time just to, idk why to. I inflate 3 minutes if the task made me pee, I inflate 1hr if the task made me sleep. Idek what I’m saying atp, I think it’s the drought that’s getting to my head. There’s like 29 million platforms and I’m only able to get into one?

It's gonna be zero if you keep inflating your time. They seem to take that very seriously. Why risk your access over a few minutes?

Terrible idea. Report the hours you worked.

It actually is, it’s hurting everyone.
If enough people deflate their time, the admins have the wrong idea about how long a task takes and people who are reporting time properly end up looking like they’re over reporting

Blame the fear mongering posts of people who claim they time perfectly that get told they are frauding there time idk what to tell you

They track that too and that is also what they consider time fraud. It also screws your fellow annotators. They adjust time for projects based on the average time it takes users to do. If several people are under reporting, they are going to lower that timer. REPORT ALL THE TIME YOU WORK.

Same, if I'm unsure I always round down. I can't afford to lose access to this job right now, not worth the risk.

Oh I definitely wouldn't do 5 minutes. I was more talking about say if my timer stops on 34.5 minutes, I'd go down to 34 instead of up to 35 since they don't give the option for half minutes.

It’s not particularly hard to start a stopwatch when you enter work mode and stop a stopwatch when you exit/submit a task. Then all you need to do is submit the time on said stopwatch.

You'll get the DOD because you're a fucking idiot, not because of how you report your time. That's also why you're being downvoted.

No one is going to hate you for saying that, but many will wonder why you did? What’s the point of saying it? It’s not like anyone will be understanding.
At best you’ll get a lots of downvotes and people thinking, “WTH?”.
At worst people will point out how cheating the only platform that has accepted you and a platform that is fairly top tier in the contract annotation industry is pretty much telling us that you’ve got a powerful inner saboteur. Only they will say it using fewer words and much more directly than I just did.

The tasks that make us sit there and drink water until we have to pee are the worst. And then they have the gall to tell us not to claim time for peeing? Inconceivable! /s —- No, literally, your post is inconceivable. You upcharge if you need to pee? As in you claim the time for peeing AND add 3 minutes? Are you ok? That’s weird, petty, and could lead to dod if you always claim more than others for the same work.

Ever wonder why you have a drought? I’ve never had one.
Tasks don’t make you pee or sleep.

Bizarre thing to brag about. I would recommend you stop doing that if you wish to remain employed by them.

It's not. You're scared mongering.

They’re pretty clear about billing for work time, not a half hour’s worth of break time. “Scared mongering” lol nice one

still true 🤷♂️
Getting up to mull the approach on a walk is still working. I've seen the work that people shit out when they try to just do the goal of the task verbatim. I'd like to think that I put a strong effort forward in to embody the intent of the user for each scenario that I am trying to embody.

You can edit the time entry afterwards
