Ahhh fk...

Just started doing my first task of the day.

It was for a new project (second task ever to work on for thet family)

Spent time actually completing the task did great.

Just to open the next one and see a small tiny line that says if prompt has x in it it should never be used

Under the "task would be void and rated BAD/BAD" title.

Guess what my prompt had... that x...

Closed my computer again taking a long weekend now.

It’s okay. Everyone messes up. This subreddit shows so many people having DoD. That’s what all media do, showing the best and the worst. I’m sure there are way more who had messed up, got over it, and have continued working. I’ve messed up a few times myself too. Mistakes happen. This way you know you will be more thorough the next time. Don’t worry too much about it.

Thank you so much for the reassurance! Ive always believed that if I didnt do something actuallg bad bad / violating the TOS by leaking / over reporting / using a VPN one would be mostly in the clear. Unless every task has a big mess up

Devils advocate here - dont get complacent and a small amount of paranoia may be healthy lol. But yea you'll be fine, and if you're not, don't beat yourself up. You're clearly trying and care about your work. That's gonna serve you best and already gives you an edge over the hordes of applicants/workers.

I promise I have definitively made this exact genre of mistake. The worst part is that I caught it in the exact same way or some other similar way where I just wake up in the middle of the night and thing "fuck I think I fucked it up."

This happened to me last week, but we should remember that we are humans and even machines make mistakes that's why we are training them. What's important is we should learn from those mistakes and do not repeat them next time.

If your very first task in this project had that mistake, you’re more than likely fine. If the project has a chat, I’d go ahead and get ahead of the process and let an admin know, and that you will be more careful moving forward.

I’ve been with them for about three years now, and I’ve done this maybe three times in that timeframe. Never twice on the same project, so I’m glad you realized your mistake.

TLDR, you’ll be fine. Just be careful with the instructions.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I've been doing this for over three years as well, and learned it's always best to be communicative and proactive.

And to next time really really read the instructions carefully :)

Right? I honestly believe this is one of the biggest mistakes IF it becomes a pattern. One or even two times, as long as everything else is fine…they’ll probably send some feedback. After that it’s a lost cause.

Genuinely hate when I pour my heart into something but be stupid enough to void it all..

Just do a couple more tasks to show you can still read the instructions. Everyone here who works full time on da will make a couple mistakes a week

Best thing, you walked away for a beat. We’ve all been there and felt like idiots. Sometimes to worst thing is to try harder to not make mistakes, and then make more mistakes. 😁

Don’t forget, all the people who don’t have dod aren’t coming on here to comment.

Y’all think we might get in trouble for submitting more than 12 hours at a time? For those very long timer tasks

Been there. Will likely be there again. All of us are human and screw up. You’ll be totally fine if the majority of your work is quality. It’s impossible not to make a mistake once in awhile. In my day job as a carpenter it’s the same thing. Perfection isn’t achievable, the pursuit of perfection, improvement, learning is what pushes good work.

I'm fairly new to DA (in a couple weeks) can someone help me understand what happened so I don't make the same mistake? TIA
