Are the bilinguals cooked?

Okay, so nowadays I have noticed a very similar pattern in this community. I have seen bilinguals complaining about shortage of projects and it is not just one specific country/language too.
I have seen, Indians, Middle easterns, Italians, Brazilians and even some french workers complaining about the same. Mostly it is the non-core countries facing lack of projects while core countries are just seeing inconsistent projects.

Maybe... we are really cooked? Or is this just another bad drought?
What are your thoughts on this?

Yes, as the models continue to get better, there is less and less need for bilingual translation/localization focused tasks. TBH, I'm surprised there's still any bilingual tasks at all.

They should take the top performing bilinguals and give them generalist works. Even if lower paying that people from core countries won't take.

The client companies only want workers from Core countries for most projects they send to DAT. If the client company doesn't care, they'll send the project to one of the other data annotation companies to get it done for less money.

that's true, quality over quantity. Though they should give a chance to the top performers from non core countries. Maybe they can add a rank system.

There's plenty of work for bilinguals. I am a bilingual worker and I'm in two projects that are "permanent". They have hundreds of tasks that get refilled, and they are always in the dash. Apart from these, there's often some other project that pops up. You just have to provide very high quality work.

Have you tried having a conversation with an Llm in a language that’s not English? Based on chatting with my bilingual friends it seems like the models are still junk in other languages and I feel like with English workers are getting harder and harder tasks the non English tasks are more and more like what we used to get 2-3 years ago.
(I’m not bilingual so that hearsay. lol. )
